Lawrence was pretty good tonight , yeah one bad carry as far as I was concerned and the missed tackle ,cmon he is trying to tackle a player one on one he steps inside him on a wet night , when he is in motion give him a break :brick:

A good hooker goes for runs, penetrates the defence or lack of, is intelligent and thinks on his feet.
I only saw him do his job tonight, not go above and beyond.
so i will reserve the label of impressive till i have seen a bit more of him perhaps

Marsters again played well in reserve grade as did the fullback.
Our right side defence is just awful. Really awful.
We could go alright in this competition if we made some changes. A couple in the forwards (Liddle and Farah as hookers ), Marsters to second row.
The backs need a new broom. Rankin out, Kevin out, Hunt for Brooks.

Lawrence was actually really good. We were good. The main problem is that we had Tedesco out.

He was pretty good first half
Problem is we went past the point of no return with Brooks and that's the issue

You cant be really good when u drop 2 balls under little pressure when u are desperately clinging onto a lead and trying to get out of yer half.

Brooks had a shocker too.
Every time we had some momentum he would kill it with a crap kick.

A few things came out with this game:
1) Rankin does not offer much from the back. He isn't a fullback. Too slow and too small. He doesn't get our sets on a positive note and doesn't link with the back line well.
2) We looked in danger every time the dogs went down the right side. Something needs to be done. Unfortunately, I think Kevvie needs to go. For all his attacking skills he is too much a liability in defence.
3) Brooks and Moses are improving. Their game control and kicking are on the rise but their defence is still a worry.
4) Liddle looks the goods
5) I don't think we will make the 8\. We will give it a shake but ultimately fall short. The biggest concern is that I cannot see us improving enough defensively until we make some personnel changes. 2017 may mimick 2016.
