Confirmed, won't be back in the NRL until 2028. Two years out of the game. Serves him right.
That's great news
I hate parra but I'm still happy with that result

Looks like Ryan Matterson ruined Lomax's chances of joining the Storm immediately by refusing to go to the Storm himself. This is deadset gold lolConfirmed, won't be back in the NRL until 2028. Two years out of the game. Serves him right.
Ryan Matterson is a bizarre man. Seems to be driven solely by money and doesn't think in any other terms. Parra don't want to play him, he's offered a career lifeline at the best development club in rugby league and he says no? Wtf. Basically he's said, "I don't have to work for my money here. I can just collect my paycheck. Melbourne will work me hard."Looks like Ryan Matterson ruined Lomax's chances of joining the Storm immediately by refusing to go to the Storm himself. This is deadset gold lol
Storm also now are paying $250,000 of Parra’s legal fees.Storm were going to take up Mattersons $700k contract for Lomax
Matto refused, now Storm get nothing
A precedent may be set now. If clubs feel justifiably persecuted, this is the action that might be taken. Conversely, stronger clubs might check themselves before entering negotiations. I hope they don’t accept any deal and let him rot. Let him do MMA beginner training classes in the Gong for the next two years.I hate Parra too but this is a big win for NRL clubs in general. I wish we'd done this for even one of the millions times we go screwed over.
So the Loxmax screwing clubs continue....Dragon, Eels and now Storm coughing up $250k....I love it...Let the turd Lomax go play park footyStorm also now are paying $250,000 of Parra’s legal fees.
Lomax got what he deserved and much as I dislike Parra, it is good to see a club refusing to let an entitled player walk all over them.
Agree. We've certainly had some arguably strong examples to make a stand on.I hate Parra too but this is a big win for NRL clubs in general. I wish we'd done this for even one of the millions times we go screwed over.
Got to be something personal in there like a jaded Ex wifeParra must smell a rat. I just read that storm offered 750k and they still rejected it. I find that strange. I thought 750k would be reasonable and build in a clause he cant play against Parramatta.
They agreed on a deal where the Storm would take Ryan Matterson off their hands for 2026, saving $400k in CAP, plus $300k compoensation...The only problem was Matterson said NO to moving to the StormThis is a very strange conclusion. Yesterday the court was told that the parties were close to a deal.
This isn't a deal it's a complete capitulation.
There must be some sort of skullduggery that's been uncovered or a further deal to come.
I get that the Matterson deal fell through but to just give up and throw their hands in the air is just strange.
