Adam their is a bigger picture than the story alone Don't you ask yourself why are we doing this when Blair and Rhino are comparable players but their price tags aren't

   these 2 are way different players… nothing comparable about these two whatso ever... Both will complement each other though.

Do you know how much Heigno is on???

I did not want Sheens signed again so now we have it's time to move forward .IMO who ever the coach was to come in would be doing exactly the same thing. Our forawrds are holding there own and thats it they are not bending the advantage line on many occasions. With Heinington he has been told he will be a benchy next season so whats wrong with that and said if he wants to move on thats OK so where is the problem ..obviously there are salary cap issues thats part of the game today and the emotional issue of moving on favourite players is the norm. I have been dissapointed with the CEO of late this whole saga has not been handled very well at all there are certainly positives with what the club is trying to do the CEO should have been on the front foot rather than laying low letting the media take it up and especially the Dywer incident poor form there. I want a winning footy team thats the name of the game losing players that we like well thats life lets hope 2012 is a good season if not some front office guys might also be looking for a new club!

Like most I don't want to see Heighno go, a club needs guys of his ability and heart as much as they need superstars, they compliment each other. Correct me if I'm wrong but Heighno has had bench time for a few games now so the only difference is he may not start the game next year. On a positive note IMO Heighno would provide great impact for the team coming on off the bench, the way he runs and his defence would add great gusto to the forwards when fatigue starts to set in.

Watto mean in there contributions to their respective teams . Rhino market value I reckon would 250-280 k max But seeing we seem to like paying overs for players he could be on anything

Totally agree on Rhino I don't want him to leave the club but maybe he thinks stuff the bench and some one is going to pay more for me which looks on the cards so I don't know why the club is to blame he has been told we its at with the Tigers.

It looks like this is just speculation ATM.. To alleviate this mid season crap which does nothing except cause disruption, I believe we should take a leaf out of the AFL and implement an end of season draft.. This way players can concentrate on what they are there to do - PLAY FOOTY!!!!

I just read on League Central that Chris Heighington has been told by the club that he is free to look for another club. Apparently Sheens told him that the team needs more size as we've been "bullied" at times this year, and if he stays he will be starting on the bench in 2012.
First off I am massive fan of Heino and I class him with Pearce, Roach, Sironen etc from the eighties.
What I would like to know is how the club could release such a loyal and hard working clubman and who the Hell are we buying to justify losing guys like Chris and big Gibbsy who have given us so much.
Thoughts?

its a shame what is looking like a likely loss of chris but in all seriousness we have not adapted to the speed of the game change since 2005\. having one of if not the smallest pack in the comp year on end is not helping, especially with the ruck rules these days. knowing our luck, we get some big boppers coming through and a monster pack sorted and the game speeds up again.

I sort of agree with Chris… We havnt had a competitive team, so something needs to change. Most clubs go through this, but we seem to be the only club that is doing it through rumours and the newspaper.

Does anyone know what quality forwards are available to remotely justify these actions?

What do you mean we havenn't had a competitive team Watto?

I have posted this a number of times now and I repeat it again - we lost the right to play in last year's grand final - which we surely would have been a great chance of winning against the rorters - by one point. Dragons should have been penalised for knees in the back to Lote and if that had happened who knows we may well have won that game. We have young and big forwards coming through and continuing to mature in droves - why are we suddenly not competitive?

I can see where the club is coming from the Tigers have been absolutely bashed by the Storm and the Bulldogs. Other teams seem bigger and stronger than us and we need to change to keep up.

back row of ellis dwyer and blair next year that is size and impact heigno is a toiler rolls the sleeves up but isnt really gonna bust the line to score or offload for a line break, heigno imo plays to many minutes now 60 mins a game is about what he should play

This is certainly an interesting time. I think there are a number of reasons that we may be seeing a clean-out.

1) Over the past few weeks we have seen the re-emergence of the wrestle in the ruck and Sheens is right, we are getting bullied and we do require some size. I don't think Tim has any intention in changing our attacking style but you need a roll on and not get dominated in the ruck for our attack to be effective.

2) We have a plethora of juniors coming through that Tim probably sees as the future of the club. He may feel that it is better to give a player up one year to early than lose a junior who can give 5+ years of service. I would think that Tim wants to keep the "loyal" clubmen but salary cap pressures mean it just isn't possible.

3) Everyone seems to have forgotten that he was just re-newed for another 3 years very recently. Nobody is privvy to the negotiations that saw thar renewal but I think we are getting some sort of idea now.The "cleanout" looks to have been an integral part of these negotaitions. If so, it would be interesting to see where the strategy came from (CEO, Coach or board).

4) In the case of Heigno, he may not see himself as bench player and has taken his option to look for a starting position. Looking at Penrith, Waterhouse is moving on so this may seem to be the best opportunity. I think he still harbors ambitions to play rep footy and it is hard for a backrower to get that recognition from the bench. Furthermore, Chris may realise he does not have the pace or size to be true impact player and this would only be to the detriment of his rep career.

I regretfully think that 2011 is gone. Too many internal issues that will impact on-field performances. As much as they say they have sorted it out, I don't think they really have. I have worked in a places where people know redundancies etc and structural change is on the table and the effect on morale, output and performance is very noticeable until the new strategy is implemented.

Ultimately, Sheens is the head-coach and basically responsible for the success of the club. It will be interesting to see where we are in 12 months time.

Its because its all BS and the real reason for all this is its all cap mismanagement

Heighno > Dwyer by the length of a straight.

However I fear his age may be a factor in some of the admins eyes.

I am all for a cleanout but unless we are buying more than Blair we have alot of holes being plugged by the unknown. For instance what has BMM actually done in first grade so far? He isn't even dominating at the NYC level. But that said he missed the entire off season which was designed to strip some fat off of him so who knows.

Interesting times ahead

So we haven't exceeded the cap for this year and next year Chris . Even the club has admitted it . We'll see when the fines come out at the end of the season

rugby league at a senior level is losing me fast… like smeg said i am all for a cleanout ,,, but i wanted the cleanout three years ago starting with the coach......what anybody sees in fulton over rhino just amazes me .
our management are to blame for this fiasco... it started when muirhead (or whatever his name was) got sacked..
i havent bought a single tigers item for two seasons...i refuse to pay my hard earned for membership whilst the game is in its current state ..... and the nrl want to expand the competition in the next few years .. plenty of quantity , but very little quality....
