Lose with dignity?

I hope we win, but I think we will just be pipped by The Rabbitohs. It'll be like Rocky 1; we can't beat Appollo, but we can "go the distance".

I honestly believe we will be beaten by at least thirty. I'm not being defeatist or anything, I just think I'm being realistic.

Yup, they'll tear us apart. Here's why:
- They've been a shocking match up for us for several years now. Strong up the middle and good kicking execution, with the ability to spread wide when the defence gets sucked in, as ours will.
- Much as there were encouraging signs this weekend, one thing that still looked dicey was the defence especially tight and on the fringes. If we turn off at any stage - which, let's face it, we will - we will be torn apart.
- No Brooks, therefore the kicking game will once again be on Marshall and Anasta. Inglis is going to take plenty of kicks on the full to run back.
- I don't even like to think about how many times high kicks are going to go up where they manage to put Inglis on one of our midgets out wide. Or Tuqiri, who can't jump.
- Just a hunch, but I reckon we'll lose the penalty count by something like 10-4\. We'll be lying all over the ruck to try to slow it down, for reasons laid out above. Combining that and they're controlled kicking game and they're going to be starting a lot of sets inside our half. Once they get a roll on they'll keep scoring.

Hopefully Mag will rest some players. Just enough so they can get the win but not cause too many injuries while doing it. Inglis comes to mind, that knee has been troublesome.

Will be happy to just see us rip into them with plenty of aggression and cause a bit of physical damage, make them at least earn it with a bit of pain. Especially Sutton, he is a cat.

If Wests Tigers play the match with their heart they will either win or lose but it with be with dignity. It is up to our players.

Up against quality opposition this week unlike last week.
Having said that Souths do seem to be wobbling as they always seem to at this time of year.
I think Souths will win but am confident of a better showing than last time we played them.

going off ladder positions, then souths, should belt us.
I do believe wests-tigers can get up and in their faces, this will put them off a bit.
would not be surprised, if they rest a few players, like Inglis, and Renoylds ( Luke carey can cover for Reynolds.) maybe even Sutton.
so they can be fresh for their match against the rooster the following week.
the rabbitohs need a massive scare to overcome any complacency they have, in their run to and preparation for the finals.
this is the game for it to happen

I heard on the radio that Inglis is resting this week due to niggling minor injuries. I hope it's true.

I hope he's playing, would be great if we could smash him around a bit. His dive after getting a tap on the face last week vs Manly was embarrassing for himself and the game.

I really hope he doesn't play, but either way that dive was atrocious and he should have copped a week ban

I hope this is the case too as I'm going to the match with a Souths fan who can be a real tosser when his team is winning.

Will be more like the Rocky 3 movie Souths are like Clubber Lang and will probably kick the living daylights out of us

Hope we just try and hang with them as long as possible and show no fear

Our young forwards seem to really struggle when they play the big names forward packs ,almost like they are overawed by the opposition

Don't let fear hold you back boys ,Tigers by name Tigers by nature :sign:

Must've been a wonderful season for you

I don't know about being pipped, Blakewp - I'm expecting more like pummeled! I would feel a bit better if we could field the same team as last Saturday, but alas, the salary cap has spoken.

Bloody Sam Burgess is back this week also, he usually kills us. We can only hope that Maguire will see it as a game the Rabbits should win easily and will rest a few of their big guns. He'd be mad not to, imo. Imagine if Inglis, Reynolds, Luke or a Burgess went down injured in this match and couldn't play in the finals! Come on Mag, give em a break mate 😛ray: We still may not win if he were to rest a few, but our F/A would take less of a beating, I imagine.
