Lote Tuqiri Could he play?

Would Lote Tuqiri be better playing at center!! running off Benji or just leave him on the wing ?

It would be tragedy to destabilise the current left edge of Tiquri, Lawrence, Fulton and Marshall. It's the obvious strength for Wests in attack and should not be broken. If Tuiaki was fit and back playing, then and only then would you consider moving Lote to right Centre, but his combination and understanding with Lawrence & Marshall on the left edge is deadly and i'm sure is feared by the opposition. It's one of the best if not the best going around in the competition so far. Size, strength, speed, power.

When is Tuiaki coming back?

Leave him on the wing, he gets more quality work done from there.

… Leave him where he is... why mix and match a already perfect combination...
When Tui comes back i believe he will go to Right wing with Ayshford... until he gets his form back...

When is Tuiaki coming back?

No definite date but he's still got a fair bit of rehab work to do. A couple of months, maybe longer if I was to guess. He was still limping at the Eels match.

i spoke to tui at the parra game, he said rnd 16 is the tenative date set for his comeback, and it will most likely be on the bench for the first few games.

but injuries like his can vary, it could come good in 4 weeks or he may not play this year at all, my best advice for tui fans is dont expect to see him play this year

tuqiri on the wing. Give the centre role to another player on the roster.
dont upset the apple cart by changing that left side attack.

I agree. The threat of a rampaging Tuqiri was evident in the Canberra game. 3 times the defence moved towards Tuqiri, eventually allowing Lawrence more room to throw the dummy and score the Try which decided the fate of the game.

Fulton must smash Thurston ALL night (NO Dummies); High bombs to Gallant ALL night (tackle him out of the game); Tackle Tonga UNDER the ribs (dont go high you will look like a dill); and ensure Thompson doesnt get into the game (there X-factor)…

Oh and at some stage....Fulton and O'donnell must clash!!! :smiling_imp:

Fulton has beefed up a lot hasn't he ,must be all the pommy tucker!!!

He's put on a couple of kilos at best. He's still fairly small for a backrower.

Leave Tuquiri on the wing. That sideline run just before halftime against canberra he made was blistering. I'm still gobsmacked at how fast and powerful it was.

For 2010 i would leave him on the wing or until Tuiaki is fully fit again
But i think when he's up to scratch defensively, centre would be his best position & not fullback which i think he is way to big for & not as quick as he used to be

Not as quick as he used to be? I have been shocked at how quick he is. All the breaks he has made so far he has left outside backs grabbing at air. In particular I am amazed at how fast off the mark he is for a big guy.

I too think that wing is his best spot. When I heard he was coming I was hopeful he could slot in at fullback, but even though I disagree with you (Size is an asset at fb and he has pace to burn) I dont think he has the 2nd 5/8 like skills required by the Tigers for fullback (neither does Ryan I guess though). I am just happy with him to stay as a weapon at wing. At centre I think there would be too much traffic at him and would blunt his attack.

Glenn

Agreed Glennb. I never understood why people said Lote is being paid too much to stay on the wing. A good winger is just as valuable as a good centre or fullback. Tuqiri and Tuiaki are testaments to that fact. This is particularly so in our side given our lateral movement and the number of cut out balls our playmakers throw.
