Actually, that's not what I said about the Lote situation… 😕 Or are you saying I said Inu was a "done deal" to play for us? Because I have never mentioned the bloke...

Not sure what the aggro is about...what I DID say is "It is done."

Anyway, the very public dance has just begun...

'it is done' - sounds to me like one of those lovely cryptic lines that fortune tellers & astrologers use so that whatever happens there's some sort of interpretation where they can say - look, i told you so.

Before everyone starts bagging the club, recruitment, sheensy and the cleaners at Concord oval I think we need to put it all in perspective.

When going for a claim in court for loss of income it is essential to show how much the plantiff would lose in income due to the wrongful dismissal, which I'm sure you all know. So the only chance that Tuquiri would ever have come to our team would be as ammunition to show how much income he lost because he only had a $200,000 (speculation only) in the NRL. Now that it has been settled out of court there is no need for him to contemplate taking such a pay cut and he can now go out and find an income to try and match the one he lost.

That's pretty poor form on the entire clubs behalf. Why have your fans lead on believing that a signing was possible if there was no intent behind it? It's pathetic. As others have stated it seems like a cover up to mask the fact were not going to make the finals. Rediculous. I hope I'm wrong but this 1 marquee a year stuff seems like total crap…

Lote is at the back end of his career, he is going to go where he can squeeze the most money he can. Now if I was a young winger I would head for the tigers even for a bit less, the style of football alone would win me over. If I was a footballer with a few years left, I would for the money. I just hope we can now direct every cent at fixing the front row

Does anyone seriously expect Lote to sign for around 200K? Money talks and I'm sure it will have the last word on it.

yes, i dont trust mcdonnell, i mean wasnt sheens on the phone to tuqiri? what is mcdonnell on about. why does he have to amputate our souls with his nonsense. sell back brown and daniella and sign tuqiri, how simple is that. :deadhorse:

Just caught Fox Sports news. Lote himself said he's spoken to a few Sydney clubs and his priority is to remain in Sydney. He did confirm he had spoken to Tim Sheens :astonished: Just as Sheens had confirmed on Sunday at the Members Day.

Time for Sheensy to pull the Australian Jersey promise… lets face it he will never wear a Union Wallaby jumper again

TRoy

On CH10 just now they interviewed Tuqiri and he said he had discussions with the Tigers and Sheens also was also interviewed and said they would be interested as would every other club is Sydney.

Lote is the kind of bloke who will look at the situation and think "I'd be a star again on the end of that baclking, Benji…fick pass to Lote, try time. Damm, I'd look good".

And then sign for the Roosters simply because they offered him more $.

He's ego and money driven...with $$ the stronger of the two.

Always has been.

I'd like to be proven wrong. He'd be excellent for us. He'll go where the $ are though...

I agree cnx i think the folding stuff will be the main criteria if he decides to stay in Sydney

**Tuqiri on Sheens' radar**

Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens says the club will look to sign sacked Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri if the dual international is interested in returning to rugby league.

Tuqiri reached a confidential out-of-court settlement with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) on Monday night after his contract was terminated last month.

It was reported in The Australian newspaper on Tuesday that the settlement was worth $2 million, however the ARU has released a media statement saying this was "inaccurate speculation".

The 29-year-old Tuqiri has drawn interest from several NRL clubs, however salary cap pressure has meant he would likely be offered a contract much less lucrative than his ARU deal worth $1 million a season.

Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell was quoted in the media on Monday as stating the club was "not intending" to offer Tuqiri a contract, however Sheens says he does not want to rule out an approach.

"We had a coffee and a very light conversation about his thoughts about rugby league and I think he is definitely interested in looking at rugby league," he said.

"I suppose he's going to get a lot of temptation, so if he's interested we're interested and we'll always be interested."

Tigers captain Robbie Farah says he would like to see Tuqiri at the club next season.

"He's a dual international and I wouldn't be complaining if we signed him," he said.

"Someone that's got the experience he's got in both codes of the game, any signing like that…if he's listening, we want him."

Tuqiri played 99 matches for the Brisbane Broncos, and represented Australia and Queensland prior to switching codes at the end of the 2002 NRL season.

He appeared in 67 Tests for the Wallabies and has not ruled out a move to a French rugby union club.

Jesus Christ, is there any communication between management at the club? McDonnell and Sheens at polar opposites.

is Warren McDonnell really that inept? How coach and captain are both in on it trying to get him a deal and our actual 'RECRUITMENT MANAGER' doesn't know that we are trying to sign him.

Ducks and drakes, Macca knows whats going on just dosnt want to show his hand. Iam getting the vibe the tigers are very interested, but will they be able to or are they willing to match the other offers remains the 100 to 1 question. Iam like a broken record, if our limited resources are not directed at the engine room its a waste of money

A pay cut yes, he has no choice. He will however attract good money as the marketing departing of any club will go off around him. He will pull in a crowd. Hopefully that crowd will be draped in black, white & gold! :righton:

heard on the radio tonight on the way to work that apparently the dragons have made a push to sign Lote. the guy that rang in was pretty confident that everyone will know the exact details of the news by friday.
