Lote Tuqiri thread

Thank god the circus seems to be over. Or is it??
Tuqiri coming to the club should be the best thing thats happened to the club for years

But can anyone tell me if his stint in euro rugby is a one off thing cause if it is going to be an annual thing i think missing pre season every year will be a backwards step for Lote & the club,especially if he is on 400 000+

I think David Gallop is a good administrator. Rugby League is seeing some amazing football at the moment, and enjoying an increase in numbers, mainly to due to David Gallop's infrastructure.

It cant be annual. Gallop wont allow it. If he has a stint this time, it will be the only one.

He has to say that as Gallop does not want to be seen as letting him play yawnion while being signed with the tigers. he will be with us for 3 years you can bank on it. bring on 2010

Yeah it seems we can take Lote's twitter appeals a little less seriously now given that he can't "officially" sign with us in the near future, that's IF we're to believe a news source with conflicting accuracy in most cases. Honestly though with all the talk surfacing it seems they're probably on the money but as we now know there'll be no official announcement anytime soon.

Technically, the media didn't say he's signed. They said he can't sign until March, after the union contract.

Dunno why the NRL just won't let us announce that he will sign a deal that will begin in March 2010\. Would be great for media exposure for the league as someone else already mentioned. Stupid.
 
Why can't Lote have the contract with theTigers post dated March 2010, then surely an announcement can be made by the club or NRL. It would be a terrific boost for the NRL in general. :sign:
 
Those that believe everything they read will no doubt be excited.
Still yet to read a comment from anyone even slightly connected with the club or Lote himself that indicated what he is doing next year. The journo has probably been reading the forum….and now we are re-reading the same stuff just rewritten to include all the neccessary spin.
 
if we could announce him it would skyrocket out pre season merch, tix sales, membership sales and everything.
not to mention the publicity the tigers v dragons game would have with lote v wendall!
 
you guys are never happy, its 100% ive been saying this for weeks, there are other forum members who are in the know about this and we are the the only ones who seem to understand the little technicalities of this situation, our ceo has done a great job doing this deal, its been difficult and very technical.

the delay in the announcement is obvious but i know im 100% right there are other forum members who know all this is true, so just be happy that lote will be playing for WT in 2010!!
 
One question…

If it's true that he's going to have a union stint in England and then come back to Oz to play for the Tigers, what happens if he does his ACL or suffers some other type of season-ending injury while he's playing union? Will we still be signing him for three years at 400K a pop?
 
Anderson, I am not doubting you. Just strange that something of this significance is not mentioned in at least the other Sydney based paper. Only a couple of days ago the DT said we'd lost him and was off to union somewhere.

it said that his union deal could jeopadise his deal with us which is what humpreys meeting with gallop last week was to discuss. it never said we lost him which i went out and confirmed for everyone later that saturday.

im sorry to everyone on this forum as i feel my input has lead to alot of tension on this forum when i thought the news would actually be a happy thing for this club and members would also be happy as it is the biggest signing we've ever made.
