Great news. Well done to the Tigers on securing a big name signing. So far Sheens has followed his promise of 1 rep standard player per season - Ellis, now Tuqiri. Let's just hope next year's big signing isn't such a struggle!!

The final handshake. I'm pretty sure they'd done that in the back room of concord some months ago , but now that its official, lets throw some support behind him.

Big factor for him was the experience of coach Sheens. Sounds like he wouldn't have come if Sheens wasn't here.
Sheens is contracted with us, so lets throw some support behind him too. Atleast give him a fair opportunity to do something with a real top 8 squad at save your judgments until atleast mid season.

That'll do me now! Forget all this off season bickering and pump our team up at every chance you get guys
I'll be letting everyone in my pub know this arvo who is the team to back this year.

2010 year of the Tiger.

P.S. Lote to play wing for mine.

The next 48 hours will be crucial. Expect a big announcment….... or..... a "withdrawn offer" statement.

Looks like you owe CNX an apology…I wonder if you'll man up enough though to do that.

Any idea how much coin per season?

Who gives a damn.

…well I wouldn't mind knowing how much of the cap has been allocated for 3 years. A rough figure just gives supporters a rough idea of who we can and can't afford to buy/keep in 2011/12\. If I knew he was on roughly 300K a season I would say well done tigers management, but if you said 450K I might think the money could be better spent.

Big coin = big expectations. I have no problem with players earning big money, just want them to bring value to the club. I am not saying Lote will or will not do this.

Top stuff by all concerned esp. Mr Humphreys!
End of March isn;t too bad (first game in rnd 4 in Canberra possibly which would be great for me as it's the only game I get to see all year)
& 3 seasons means he shouldn;t be going back to union in between.
He's a professional footballer & as such I think will give his all for the club he's playing for.
I'm excited!

(although if you could have just delayed it for another 300 posts…)

Good news not only about the signing but the way the club controlled this issue.

How much free publicity in the media have we already gotten and how much more is to come

Completely agree smeg. They were very calm, relaxed and thoughtful throughout it all. Humfreys may turn out to be the best buy of the last couple of years.

LOTE CALLS ON FANS TO 'STEP UP'
Thursday, 4 February 2010

Lote Tuquri has now signed with the Wests Tigers….Have you?

Following today’s announcement that the dual international has signed for the next three seasons, Wests Tigers calls on supporters to become valuable club members to help get it across the line in the Race to 10,000.

No NRL club in NSW or the ACT has ever had 10,000 ticketed members in a season.

The NRL, in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph, Bigpond, 2GB and Channel Nine, is offering a prize pool valued at $50,000 for the first club in NSW or ACT to win the “Race to 10,000” Ticketed Members.

There is also a $10,000 cash prize for the club that has the biggest percentage increase on their 2009 membership.

Wests Tigers has reached the 4000 Members mark but is facing strong competition from South Sydney, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, and Parramatta.

The latest member to ‘Step Up’ is new Wests Tigers signing in dual international Lote Tuqiri.

“I am proud to now be apart of this great club and I urge all Wests Tigers supporters to really commit their support this year and become a member,’’ he said.

“The support of our fans is important both financially and at the games. “

Sign up today to secure your seat at the games! Don't miss your chance to see Robbie, Benji, Gareth, Lote and the boys strive to make the NRL finals in 2010 – ‘The Year of the Tiger’.
