Love the Jungle, but I hate the Pre-Season reality "Survivor" stuff.

Whilst it's always good to get out of your comfort zone, e.g., vaping too much, listening to gangsta rubbish, talking gangsta rubbish, being a podcast influencer type guy with subscribers who buy your bandanas, the idea to bust your gut and get muddy is the perfect training if you are a hippopotamus or just stupid. Cos if you are an elite non-vaping athlete, the perfect pre-season training is not pretending to be a reality Survivor star. It is about putting in hard, practical skills-based work as well as rules of engagement ... i.e. how to play the bloody game within the rules. I have said this before (& was shot down, but I stand by my claim): Bula was destroyed 2 pre-seasons ago after coming back from a serious shoulder injury (6 or 7 weeks out in 24). In the next pre-season, 25, he was a hero carrying the heavy load to show his mates, etc blah blah blah. He missed Round 1 through ... injury! Shoosh! He has not been fully fit since then. In fact, he has been terrible, but we decided to pay him almost a $1m cos we are desperate. If this Club is indeed a business he ought to have been shopped out.

Einstein, no relation to my genius grandson Albert, once said - doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is the height of Insanity.

I never ever want to see a video of our players sliming around in mud again. I would love to see them running hard, tackling hard and busting their guts rather than hearing them speak in broken Scat English. Maybe that's why Galvin & De Silva had enough. Too many Gangsta wannabees - when the main game was playing footy. Get the Footy Culture Right Benji and maybe we'll start winning games instead of whinging games!
