x3 You would think that Prince will be almost finished by then Lets hope that he decides to stay though

I am most worried about North Queensland that is his home. Him and Thruston would be a top halves combination. I still think he will stay, I think he has settled in well at our club. Queenslands halves are all getting older, if Robert Lui keeps progressing at his current rate he will be a regular in he Queensland team in about 3 years ( I wish he was a NSW player, I would pick him now he is better than any current NSW halfback).

I don't know Sunshine Coast I think NQ Cowboys will be very happy with the way that Ray Thompson is developing He is very good defensively and forming a great combination at the moment with Thurston . Also think next in line for Qld will be Cronk and I think he will be there for a few years to come yet .

Afternoon All,

After my last explosive post on Lui I think I have to do what was mentioned on here and eat some humble pie.

Lui played VERY well on the weekend and was instrumental in a devastating and highly entertaining victory.

What can I say? I am a fairly impatient fellow and I thought Lui was below par in the earlier rounds. I suppose I was a bit disappointed after watching him kill it in the Toyota Cup and that not translating in first grade.

Keep the faith people and don't let rash comments like mine sway your loyalty in the young'ens!! If we always agreed these forums would be empty!

Another thing….Anyone know any good pie shops?

lol although I agree with most comments, this would have to be the biggest 180 degree back flips I've ever seen. Not a year ago, Moltzen was god himself, the saviour to our half back problems and the perfect partner for benji. Now some are starting to say their comfortable with him being shown the door. God I love footy fans, always living in the moment.

Go the Tigs!

Dont forget Robert Lui come down before whilst he was attending keebra pak high school and got home sick and went home again. He comes from North QLD and Thurston can play 5/8 as he has said as he only played 1/2 when he went to the cowboys, brent sherwin was 1/2 at the dogs back then. Moltzen i see as a good player but i think it will take him a while to get over his knee injury doesnt seem to be 100% confident yet. I dont want moltzen to go, unless they have another player in line to play fullback in the next couple of years. Remember McKinnon isnt getting any younger, and probably only has 2 more years at the most in him.

No need to eat the whole pie yet mate - was only one game.
I'm not his biggest fan either but had to smile at your original blast going right over the top.
Like you I see him make heaps of errors that others don't (or won't admit to)- and again like you agree the forum would be boring if everyone agreed.

One game??? You're off your head!! Go back and watch the Dragons Semi!! He has been really coming into his own since around mid way through last year. A couple weeks after HE got back from serious injury. You guys seem to pick the bones out the mistakes, But pay no credit to the magic.. He is gonna make more mistakes… He touches the ball more often!!
Maybe Rob Lui should start kicking the ball out on the full, Throw occasional passes to no-one, Have the worst Goal Kicking percentage in the league? Then he can win the Golden Boot and finally have your respect?
I CAN'T wait to bring this thread up at seasons end....
You guys will be pitching a tent outside the Bakery....
ps: I got the first 5 games on DVD if anyone wants an accurate account of Moltz's form PRE INJURY...

Lol

batboy - I was referring to one good game since bigsiro's rant.
Agree his game against Dragons in finals was good as was last week.
Don't think I've ever catalogued his mistakes like a lot of people do with Moltzen - and the SERIOUS injury he just came back from?
I hope he does kick on - but I don't think the Golden Boot is headed his way in a hurry.

Batboy I dont get you.

Firstly, are you knocking Benji? or did Benji only get your respect when he won the Golden Boot?
??
Batboy you're a lot like my wife, doesn't forget an odd faux-pas and even when I say sorry she goes on and on.

Difference is, I will pitch a tent for her everyday of the week.

My point is… They ALL make mistakes...
That is all!! Benj is a hood... I've watched him his whole career, And the man continues to Amaze me from time to time.
My secondary point is that Lui is only just now getting some credit for the player he has been for us in the last 12 months... People whinge that we haven't had a half back since SP, We finally get one... And A GOOD ONE at that, And people bag the crap out him??? Beyond Me???
ps: Don't think the missus will settle well in front of the Bakery.

Anyone who thinks Moltz has anything over Lui Bar Size, Speed and Experience is Dillusional…
Apart from these.... He is not even in the same League as Lui.
Lui has copped it enough on here I think, At this point there is only two 1/2's in the game I'd trade him for... Cronk and JT!! And that's at game level only as people I am not in a position to make a call on either....
Rob Lui is a hellova Nice fella, and one future superstar of the game!! And while my Whatsitcalled is pointing to the ground...
I'll back him all the way!!

So you are saying he is bigger , faster and got more experience than Lui but not in the same league?
As for Lui being our best ever half then I suppose that puts him in front of Craig Field and John Morris but have you forgotton Scott Prince (or Marshall and Farah who also had stints at half)
My reasons for choosing Moltzen at half over Lui?
Moltzen doesn't make as many mistakes at half as Lui( not like when he is out of position at fullback) , is faster , defends better and has better hands.

ur saying Farah at is a better no 7 then Lui? :crazy

Robert Lui is the better halfback and i`m a massive Tim Moltzen fan.
Jacob Miller is a potential superstar, but still won`t be as good a halfback as Robert Lui.
Lui and Marshall are already the best halves combination in the competition and only getting better.

I'm on record as saying I prefer Moltzen - but to prefer Lui and say we already have the best halves in the comp?
There are already established guys miles in front (as combinations)- Wallace/Lockyer , Pearce/Carney . Mullen/ Gidley , Hornby/Soward.
As much as I do prefer Moltzen at half we have to decide on ONE guy and leave him there to actually form a combination with Marshall!

i think the decision has been made…Robert Lui :crazy

if miller is a potential superstar maybe he will be better than lui.For me its lui now and possibly miller later the guy seems destined as a 200 game plus rep frst grader. And if miller and lui continue to improve its bye bye tim at the end of next year.

Well Lui has been there one week in a row this time and barring injury looks like Sheens will leave him there - but you never know with Tim Sheens.

u said they need to choose 1 man n stick with him…they've done that Lui started proving he was the man towards the end of last yr...the only reason they've been un-organized in that postition so far this yr is coz of Lui being on the sidelines not coz Sheens can't find any1 suitable...of course Sheens will stick with him he's the first choice no 7...god knows wat he has to do to convince ppl...he's the tigers first choice halfback when he's fit n that won't change anytime soon

Robert Lui gets my vote and number 7.

Seems to be prone to injury so Moltzen is good to have in the wings.

Both better than poor old John Morris who tried his heart out but should never wear 7\. Same as Moltzen should never ever ever ever ever wear 1.
