Robert Lui is the better halfback and i`m a massive Tim Moltzen fan.
**Jacob Miller is a potential superstar, but still won`t be as good a halfback as Robert Lui.**Lui and Marshall are already the best halves combination in the competition and only getting better.

I dont know about this mate….there is a lot to like about Millers game.

He is tough, he is confident, he has courage - especially in defense, a trait most halfbacks dont possess and he's only 18.

I look forward to seeing his progression.

He looks a confident kid doesn`t he? You could probably throw him in the NSW SOO side now and he`d go better than the ones they have to choose from, I`t seems like nothing would phase him.
He tore the Broncos under 20`s to shreds last Friday night and they are supposedly one of the better u/20`s sides.
I just think that Robert Lui is a massive talent and potentially the best halfback in the game in a couple of years time.

Rob Lui will never be one of the best halfbacks in the league. He's overrated to no tomorrow on this board. He isn't a halfback ffs. He's an amazing talent at 5/8th, not halfback. Bar a few games, he's done nothing to prove he's a halfback more so than a 5/8th.

If he can keep up to the level he could get a run or two for QLD at 5/8th 5 or so years down the track when Thurston, Cronk etc are gone and could be a top 5 5/8th in the league, but he'll never, ever be one of the elite halfbacks of the league.

Finally - someone makes sense! Add to the fact he'll also have to improve heaps in defence ( and that's a possibility as he's still young)

The problem with Lui in the team is that we rely on having him as another ball-player and kicker. And he can do neither of those things at first grade level. In Toyota Cup when 1 out of 10 kicks go well it looks good: in first grade it's embarrassing.

When Lui receives the ball on the 5th tackle it is a foregone conclusion that a crap kick will ensue or some other bonehead play. If it was left to Benji/Farah that would be a MUCH better option.

Lui is slow and predictable. He is not first grade standard at this stage and the sooner he is relegated to NSW Comp the better the Tigers will go.

The games he was out we played better footy. Win or lose, it was better.

Moltzen is a damn sight better. Hands down.

Agree with cktiger and Lukic above, except that he won't play for QLD.

Geez it has been a long time since I have disagreed 100% with another members post but this is just so far off the mark it's funny!

Yeah because Farah and Benji are consistently great kickers, are they?

Think bigsiro meant they give us better choices - not necessarily a better kicking game .
Marshall and Farah are our go to guys on the last - not Lui.
Lui does tend to make a mistakes on the last - leave it to the experienced playmakers for mine.
They get paid the big money- let them earn it.

When I first signed up on this forum, there was so many users that were swinging from Tim Moltzen's tree,
saying he has it all over Lui and so on.
I always said Lui is the better PLAYER, not just halfback but the better PLAYER.

Now I see people like Goose claiming "everyone bags Moltz & wraps Lui"
Wasn't always the case.
I guess the hype train has stopped at this station.

… Ridiculous.

Moltz has the skills and talent as mentioned but he's just lacking at the moment, whether that be heart or confidence or whatever, he needs to man up and develop as a FULLBACK.

No doubt Lui is better and if he is injured, Miller should be the replacement because as mentioned, he is a future super star and showed so much heart and talent.

if for some reason we had to get rid of one of them for 2012, id keep lui. he was so good at the end of last yr, esp. in the dragons semi

well thanks guys it has been really insightful! but i still need to know peoples opinion of mitch brown. because i think he could be a great full back. the way he leaps into the air for those kicks, without a care for his own wellbeing, puts him in my eyes over wade.

A big serve of humble pie for you today, methinks.

Ouch.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.
The whole team played better - mainly because Farah was back to his best directing play.
Lui had a good game but who knows what the result would have been if you switch Lui and Moltzen?
Moltzen is suffering because he is being forced to cover other positions ( some of which he isn't suited to) -and Lui gets to stay at half because thats the only place he can play at the moment.
Seems that's the way Sheens wants it
Doesn't change my opinion that given the same game time at half Moltzen would prove superior.

Its a luxury to have both these players in our squad.
They are both first grade No 7 s.
You cant really say whos better at the moment because Moltzen is coming off a big lay off and playing out of position.
Having said that , if I had to choose, I'd choose Lui.
