Ive only seen Lui on TV in above ,was quite disappointed & have really struggled to understand what all the fuss is about….but seems that he was carrying injuries late in the season.
After all,he's only 18,so plenty of time to develop so prepared to see what happens in trials.
For what its worth,Tuquiri wont be wasted in a wing spot once he's aclimatized back to RL & will wear the no 1 jersey asap,& moltzen(who plays better close to the ruck picking off holes)will be in no 7..until inevitable injury time.
if Tuqiri plays fullback we wont make the finals,he is 30 years old and has not played league in what 8 years ????
i dont mind him on the wing though as long as our wingers arent in form
Big call.
He'll adapt in a heartbeat.
Actually, given his recent union experiences, coupled with bulking up at expense of raw speed,I think Lote will make a much better fullback than winger. This is the role hes been playing in Rugby the past few years,to the chagrin of the new national coach who wants fast finishers & couldnt find a spot in the wallabies for him.
Hes more capable of breaking the first line of defence than outpacing the oppostion,& unlike any of our other fullback candidates will attract 2 or 3 tacklers creating space for others.
He's also very safe under the high ball, but like most big guys a little fragile when the ball is grubbered along the ground
I dont think we'll be dissapointed with Lotes impact, but he wont be the try scoring machine of 8 years or so ago
