Luis V Miller

I think it's great to have miller at the club as lui suggested he wanted to test the open market before resigning, this means we don't really have to get in a bidding war with a rival club for lui at a inflated price as we have a replacement ready to fill the role. I think miller will be better than lui in a year or two but at the moment I'd be sticking lui

Most seem to realise its way too early for Miller for NRL.
A few games here and there is one thing, a big difference to the weekly grind of an entire season…
Worst thing to do is rush him in...he doesnt need burning out - developing nicely in the 20's.
Is this his 2nd season in the 20's...I think he played in NYC last year for the Roosters yeh?

No he played S.G Ball for the Roosters last season, was the S.G Ball player of the season. Played a couple of U/20`s games for the Roosters late in the season, still eligible for U/20`s again next season.

Quoted for truth….this is the bit that matters. Miller WILL be better than Lui in the not too distant future. Next trick is the retention.

Good thread this, but surely it spells the end of the Moltzen super thread. Moltzen is 3rd in line for the 7 jersey.

You'd like to see a running player with a few tricks partner a running player with a few tricks? Which is the halfback cuz Sironen sure as hell ain't and Benji needs one. Miller is better than Sironen btw. Just. I reckon that Miller is ready for the 7 now but Lui hasn't/won't lose his jersey.

I've said it before, I'd like Benji to go to fullback and for a completely new halves combination to pop up at some stage.

I don't see how Benji would be any less effective at fullback. He'd probably be more effective. I'll get laughed at though no doubt, but it'd keep him out of the front line and let him choose his moments even more effectively. He'd be an absolute revelation at fullback and tbh we have far more exciting halves prospects being held out than fullback prospects. I'd go so far as doing it just to keep some youngsters. At least try it for a game. I reckon Marshall at fullback for one game with a new halves combo would be an absolute revelation.

Fully agree about Benji. Could not do any harm to test your theory out.

Miller is the best prospect I have seen for a very long time. Tommy R comes to mind, only smarter and with great kicking skills.

I wouldn't bet on that.

I dont know, Lui was absolutely tearing up the NYC a few years back. This is what saw him expedited to FG.

Lui is a queenslander so dont expect him to be playing for NSW in origin in the near future at all. Comes from Upeer Ross Rams in townsville somewhere i think.

Lui misses Gareth helping him out in defence, his defence leaves alot to be desired from time to time. Curtis Sironen is definately a star on the rise as well. How many Australian Scholboys do we have in the NYC team, does anybody know??

I have to agree with you know who Lui does miss Ellis helping him out in defence, i would look to run somewhere else  if Ellis was going to tackle me to.

Im still shocked you guys are comparing the two. Lui has not even played 30 games of course he is going to be irratic. You cant expect him to perform JT performances week in week out.the weekly grind is still going to haunt him for another year or two. If our forwards step up regulary which they havnt been you wouldnt be baggin lui and I would have loved to have seen this thread written comparing lui to someone other halfback in our run to the semis and and the semi final againest saints last year. he was our best player on the paddock.

Miller has only played a handful of NYC games in his short career and he is a great prospect but the only reason why he looked good in first grade becuase the amount of class he had is valid for two/three thirty minute stints in first grade, hes a junior who will play on enthusiasm in first grade for the first few games but will burn out. I hope he doesnt play first grade permantly till at least next season otherwise he will burn out way too quickly.

also lui had a dodgy preseason whith his personel problems if his fault our not. that wouldnt have helped him one bit.

Conclusinn- stick with lui if he leaves after next season miller will be ready for first grade, great posiiton we are in to be honest.

Matt Groat. David Nofaluma and James Tedesco both played ball earlier this and are part of the Australian Schoolboys squad. Not sure whether they'll get a run in the 20s this season, but watch for them next season for sure.

Well we'd better make it clear to Miller that he is in our long term plans, and sign him up quick smart! Look what happened to other talented young halves who were considered not ready for the NRL at their then current clubs, only to be snapped up by another club and given the 7 straight away and become superstars.

Eg Thurston Dogs>Cowboys, Soward Roosters>Dragons to name a few.

If we don't show that he's likely to be in the 17 next season he will probably go..

Groat is playing NYC and is just great as is the whole team.

Lui yesterday seemed almost to have no communication with anyone outside him . So often he appears to take the line on (which i love ) but he has no support which leaves a couple of questions . Does he do it off the top off his head ?? Are the players lacking confidence in his calls and just ignoring him ?? Or the combination of Farah, Lui and Marshall just is not working ?? I understand losing MacKinnon and having no Lawrence or Tuqiri doesn't help but it just does not make sense to me .
