Luke Brooks #167

Stating that Brook actually played tonight like a first grader is somehow too much for the Stockholm syndrome sufferers around here and they want to put him on a pedestal as the greatest thats ever played the game. We get it. 1-7 you want to celebrate, 1-7 I want to win more. 1-21 you'd probably still be happy. Some care. Some are happy to accept long term losing. We all know who. #mediocrity
Yeah, but Kenty, nobody has declared him the saviour. They just expressed how happy they are to see him play well.

You & your 360 mates however, need a story for the next fortnight.

This is what happens when a half back plays his role and does his day job. Been absent for a long long long long time. Well done Brooks for actually doing your job, finally. Lets see if its a flash in the pan and hes back to his usual game next week.
Good to see you give him some credit, now let's see if we can do that on what might be a dry track in Magic Round.

I think so, yes. If they can get Wakeham and Brooks gelling + really improving last tackle options we will be very hard to beat. Forwards are killing it
Forwards are absolutely killing it. Laying the platform for 2 bog average halves to pull off a win against Penrith. Games will be won coming off the forwards rather than the halves doing anything special.

Congrats on learning about hashtags in your weekly old farts technology class. You should be proud of yourself make sure to tell the grandkids tomorrow.

I’ve always liked Brooks, it just wasn’t working for so long and his confidence was rocked.

What would be great to see is if we can kick away from a team by a could have tries, then wakeham and brooks can relax a bit and we can see what they can do.

Ive written 20 posts giving him credit. Ive spoken a lot about him finally performing at his job. Im just not ready to drop to my knees like some on here. 1-7 as the table stands. When he makes it 14-7 then ill shower him with praise until then, well done mate, you finally did what youre paid to do. wooo hoooo. yay

Absolutely right- the forwards are putting the team in contention. It allows limited players to do things well. Nobody has declared Brooks to be akin to Andrew Johns.

The Cowboys nearly won a comp on the back of outstanding forwards & Chad Townsend & Tom Dearden.

Is Brooks paid too much? Yes, probably. On a smaller contract, is he a viable option behind a good forward pack?

Id have no problem if he was paid a minimum contract and played in second grade where he belongs and used as a back up for 3 games a year or played at 14 at best.

Just wishing you could say something constructive. You appear to maybe be intelligent. Maybe give praise to brooks when it's deserved (like tonight)and critize when it's deserved. It would do your credibility wonders.
Brooks played a great opening 90 seconds and then kicked a 40/20 later in the game. All around those moments he butchered set after set after set and was left wanting on every 5th. Instead of putting the opposition to bed before the second half, it came down to the dying seconds.

Brooks the main play maker of the team and getting paid a million dollars to have the team at 1-7.

Yay, Brooks killed it. He did his day job.
