Luke Brooks #167

Yeh ok 🙄
I've been a big advocate of getting rid of him but I rode that victory, cheering him on like he was my favourite player.
I want success and he hasn't delivered for a long time.
I think the realists were suffering disbelief the entire game after the first 120 seconds. Then reality hit after stuff up after stuff up in the attacking zone. Did enough though with the first 120 seconds and the second 40/20 to glam up the rest of his 77 min game.

Now do it again Brooksy!!! Live up to that potential and the current coachs and the boards faith that they have put into you for 10 years!!!

Spot on.

How could anyone on here be mad with a Tigers win?
I'm happy all the Brooks haters were even more vindicated after last nights win. what a great celebration, a win plus everything thats been said about Brooks was proven correct.

Been saying for a decade you cant make the finals without a halfback, all of a sudden, Tigers looked like having a half back last night, and what a shocker, we won!!! Now do it again and again and again.

It’s more than a single win that takes things to 1-7…it’s a win against one of the best teams in the comp, in tough circumstances.

There’s also signs that other players are becoming a real threat. Bula, Toa etc

Brooks form hasn’t been great for a while, but to be fair the club has been a joke for a long time. Imagine rocking up to work every day for 8 years to be told by people in other departments that you’re shit, then multiply that by 1000 given that all of the criticism is in the public.

So the Tigers and Brooks have managed to build a good win in really trying circumstances, and now there’s hope. That’s why it’s a big win.

No one is saying that they’ll win the comp.

The Tigers kept both Panfers Halfs very quiet , we owned them

90% of sets in the rain plus we once again led the stats in all departments
According to the stats we should be sitting comfortably in the top 4
We won the battle of the cats easily
The tight scoreline doesn't seem to agree
If it was a dry night we would've won 13+

According to Fox commentators, that was Brooks 11th and 12th 40/20 in his career
Says a lot
Bigger issue remains his short kicking game, which had some rare success on Fri...
We completely outplayed the premier's fri,but only just hung on for a win
Switch 7s,we win by plenty
So he’s kicked as many as Cooper Cronk and Cam Smith? I didn’t know that? I think Daly Cherry Evans may have kicked a couple more than those guys?
The real test though is the 20/40.

Stating that Brook actually played tonight like a first grader is somehow too much for the Stockholm syndrome sufferers around here and they want to put him on a pedestal as the greatest thats ever played the game. We get it. 1-7 you want to celebrate, 1-7 I want to win more. 1-21 you'd probably still be happy. Some care. Some are happy to accept long term losing. We all know who. #mediocrity
I Agree with Winston, Brooks was great tonight but in all honesty it needs to be done every week as a NRL Million dollar 7. Like if that was Cleary with 2 40/20s no one would even be that fussed as he does it all year. We are still looking bad in attack and non creative outside of Api, I honesty think Matamua at 13 would make a huge difference, Pole is a beast he would be awesome impact as a prop off the bench. I honestly don't really know if I want Brooks to keep playing well because the club will likely resign him and shut the door on a younger 7. The carry on about brooks by the club and players I think is Toxic even when he plays well they all go out of their way to point it out. Api was the best player followed by big Clem, I had Brooks at 3. If Luke can get us on a run and we play finals a contract extension for way less money may be acceptable but anything short of finals he needs to be let go for HIS sake and the Clubs.

If that was Cleary with 2 40/20s he would get MoM.
I’m not sure if you look at the stats?
Cleary has kicked only 1 40/20 this year. He hasn’t even kicked as many FDOs as Brooks.

Love your confidence but I'm not sure that you can say we won it easily and if it was a dry night and a fast track I'm not so confident that we stay with them.

Anyway, lets see how we go in magic round on what will possibly be a dry track against that other merged team.

If we win and particularly if we can put a score on them and not just stats then that will go a long way to me believing that win against Penrith was not just an aberration.

We All know That Brooksy Has all he talent in the world.

I have called for him not to be resigned anywhere near his current Salary. Best players deserve the best coin. This is the art Team building.

I will give him tremendous Credit for a 9.5/10 Game in Bathurst against the Premiers.

Brooks this club and its fans are so desperate for you to be successful.

Im using the 40/20 as the example, my point is Cleary, Hynes ect do crazy stats almost weekly. Brooks was great but he can't do it a few times a season like he does. The tigers have a bad habit of hanging onto 'moments' and resign as a result. I just hope one good game does not earn him a extention

He can’t do it? Or he hasn’t done it for extended periods? I wouldn’t be writing him off so soon after his recovery from injury.
