He'll be decent foil for a dominant half, with everything else in place also. If he finds a club that will give him that then you'll see him succeed, else no. Currently, there are only a couple clubs that can, he just doesn't have the skillset to do anything more despite what a few adorers on here think. His ceiling is middle of the table and we quite frankly we need more, keeping him because he's supposedly the 'best available' whilst overpaying him is not the way going forward, rather salvage that money for elsewhere and give a fraction of it to a young fella whilst nothing else is available... worst case scenario we achieve the same 20% win rate we currently have.

I hear you but the forwards battle is often dictated by the early arm wrestle. Make early errors or give away dumb penalties and you ask the opposing forwards to run all over you. It’s a team game and the individuals within it are limited by other’s performances. You can’t have passengers!!

Everyone with the exception of Naden contributed in that game against Penrith. That’s winning football in the NRL. It’s bloody hard and takes mental toughness that players at Wests Tigers don’t often show. When you sign guys off the scrap heap that’s the culture you ask for.

Whoever plays halves next year I hope they fight over a bone like Bateman.

If we end up with Townsend - I’ll eat my hat…. That bloke is garbage - has been for years. Payten ain’t an idiot… he’ll swap them in a heartbeat given the chance.

Maybe the experts here will get their dreams of having Townsend at 7’for the Tigers…
The reality of that will be very different to the way their thinking though
