- How would you handle the constant death threats and rapid decline in memberships?

If we did that it shows clear vision in the halves and most would probably back off for the year.

Lets be real if membership was going to be rapid declining it was this season after the spoon mixed with what other options do we really have most of the kids we can’t give a contract until Nov anyway for 25.

Same as every season for the last decade. I’d host an ask the boss segment appoint a coach from a decade ago and bring back another club legend.

I would be ok with that as long as he is used as a running no6 and we buy the cream of the cream young no7 to play inside him. Ok 800 might be over the odds but I doubt we are going to get anything cheaper. It also gives us some breathing space

I reckon he is gone. It's now or never for Brooks and reportedly would have gone this season if Sheens hadn't blocked it. No doubt Pascoe and Lee needed another individual to deflect blame for our failure - Brooks going the perfect foil for them to look like they are taking action again.

The vision was the young halves in 25 and basically getting some short stops in for 12mths.

Will Smith isn’t even handling NSW Cup this season. I wouldn’t sign Austin or Sezer but they would be better than Wakeham & Smith as crazy as it sounds + we have to use the cap next season anyway.

Ya'll can crap on Brooks all you like, but he is better than every name suggested. I'd keep Brooks over Volkman, Sezer, Austin, Flanagan, Metcalf....or whichever fringe player of the month might be.

Considering whats on the market, I'd ideally keep him for another year. Of course, he won't accept that, so if we need to give him 2/3 years lets do it.

Can still get a quality halfback to play with him.

I would have kept him for 2 years at $1.4 mil ($700k per year) which i think is a fair price for him considering the new cap increase. However, I do believe that horse has bolted and he’s gone already - which leaves us 2 halves short and no obvious stand out replacements. Very poor planning by this club!!
I rarely take an argumentative approach on here, but the posters suggesting that there is no difference between Brooks being in the side or what was dished up by Wakeham and Toa as our halves - honestly that’s just got to be having a lend. What are you blokes watching??

He said it in relation to finding a halfback. I found it to be a very interesting choice of words. Two months into his tenure and no signings. Lee seems to have forgotten he parachuted him in behind Sheens back.

I don’t want us giving up and wanted it to be a serious step up for Benji to have success.

Be interesting how things unfold over the next few months. Just not confident at all.
