Who cares if they were nervous? They're 20 and probably a bit sheepish to be asked about a year where their team underperformed.
That said, I was impressed with what they actually said.
- both know each others games inside and out
- love playing together and are genuine friends
- both a bit in awe of Tedster
- said that WT is a tight club.
- enjoy being a central part of the young guns
- both respectful of their elders, especially Robbie
- both love the game and the club
- enjoy the challenges presented in defence
- confident in their skill sets
- gave respect to their forwards
- believe in Taylor
- are enjoying his structure now it's been tweaked.
Well done boys. Just what I wanted to hear. Didn't try to be media clowns, spoke from the heart and were honest.
Agreed Stryker, I just watched a replay of the interview and found them both young men were impressive and held their own speaking to Sterlo giving good answers and getting into the spirit of the interview, a credit to themselves, their families and the club. Of the points listed two aprticularly stuck out for me, one was their mateship and the other the fact that JT has loosened up the structure a bit to allow them to attack more.
x3
As long as they are confident to talk when it matters, i.e. on the field. I'm sure all the media work will come naturally with experience.
That said I had to have a bit of a laugh at the members day a few weeks ago. Brooksy was up on stage talking to the crowd & must have forgotten to plug the new marvel jerseys. The MC prompted him to mention them before going off to sign autographs & he just said something like "oh yeh & those new jerseys are great, make sure you buy one". It's not just about playing footy anymore!
That's true Greato but I'm not sure how the sales of the jerseys went overall, didn't notice too many being worn at Leichhardt where I was sitting at least. By the way how did the members day go, couldn't get there but saw some photos on the club site?
