Does Luke have a passing game? All I see is short balls. Surely he has more to it.

Still working on it..

After watching a full season of Brooks in FG I said this side will never do anything as long as Brooks is our 7, I've seen nothing to change my mind yet.

Yes he's improved a lot but he's just too passive at times where we need him to be aggressive.
I can't complain about his defense i think it's his strength but he's just not crafty enough to create opportunities for us with the footy.

I don't know what the answer is but if we have the halves combo of Brooks n Benji again next year we can forget about the 8 again, it doesn't matter who else we sign.

@matchball You don't get the feeling the whole team were directed to use short balls in the conditions? All I've heard for the last 5 weeks is "Why doesn't Brooks run more?" Had 19 runs for 100 odd metres. Now it's "Why doesn't he pass long?"

@Masterton even if the instruction was to hit the lead runner in order for it to be successful you need some variety to keep the defence in two minds. Thompson with 9 tries and Marsters with 8 tries are our leading try scorers I don’t remember a single time either got the ball off a backline shift. It was either kick returns or dummy half runs for both. This against a team that likes to get into a grind and has the best completion rate in the comp makes zero sense. They also have a frail left side defence of Holland and Meaney so we go there .... never. Absolute geniuses our halves .....

Edit: I do remember once Marsters got it on a shift. It was the dying minutes he came back inside drew multiple defenders then found the offload which created the space on the outside for the long ball for Momos second try.

That is something that is worrying me. I remember that he used to have a great long ball, but last night his pass to Momorovski was slow and floating (harbour bridge pass). 2nd time I have seen that sort of pass recently, by the time the outside man catches it, the defence are on them.
