Brooks never played finals, should never had won Halfback of the year in 2018 when it really should of been cronk who won , his passing game is weaker than watered down coke, His kicking game dont even get me started, His last tackle options are some of the i have ever seen in the league i would rather have madden in the halves than brooks. It hasnt worked out it never will move him on to somewhere where they might get some remanence of an NRL player

If Madden was that good, some other club would have taken him.

Outplayed Brooks ??

The sun is shining today

When was the last time we had someone on the field steering the side around to everyone’s satisfaction?
We’ve tried everything , including a 5 player steering committee. What we need is a group of talented individuals (already have a few) who have an obsession for teamwork. Oh, and for Brooks to thoroughly enjoy his footy again.

You just have to keep going back to the amount of players that have left and played finals. There’s no reason why Brooks wouldn’t be the same. It’s the club.

Pot meet kettle

Great post, very insightful and productive like all your others over the past few weeks.

Might be time to find a hobby or something instead of whinging on here everyday.

That’s rich. You been saying the same thing about Brooks for months. And Liddle. And Noffa. So I don’t know how that meme doesn’t apply to you.

Yeah, that's my opinion.
I've made it clear.

Am I going to post about it every single day? Try and sway people's opinion?
No, can think of better things to do.

You're a contributor to the downfall of the forum.
You complain about that too.
You play a part.

Time to elevate.
Give the nonsense a rest mate.

We disagree, others can disagree. You don't need to chime in with your petulant but you said months ago nonsense. Go outside.

Yeah it’s terrible chiming in with an opinion on a footy forum isn’t it. Meanwhile your mates are calling others the c word and that’s all good.

Well he is

@Demps liking this post, meanwhile his pulse is on what’s really the problem on here.

You're the problem.

The cavalry has arrived. Knew it wouldn’t take long.

Been here all morning mate.

I posted my opinion in a non confrontational way, and then the pile on began. One thing I’ve learned lately is that the majority hate when the minority have an opinion.

With all due respect to your comment, I get a bit tired about that #7 has to steer the side around. What difference does it make if the guy that steers the team around has a #6 or a #7 on his back?

For years we have been playing two halves, one on each side of the field and all we need is for one of them to step up and take on that role.

Agreed that it would be nice if both were capable of taking on that role, but one thing all of us can probably agree on is that if Luke Brooks was that guy he would have demonstrated those characteristics well and truly by now and it hasn't been forth coming.

I don't care what anybody says, I still believe that Luke Brooks is a good player and have previously stated that I think he will have a big year on the back of someone like Hastings being able to take on that role of steering the team around.

If that doesn't eventuate, then I have also stated that it could be a long year. One of the big failings of this club has been signing Luke Brooks to long contracts and failing to sign the support that he needs, or possibly even recognizing that he needs that support.

Never said he wasn't a good player or didn't have the talent. I'm just tired of the whole experiment. Move his position or club. It's not working.

Fair reply, but the club has to take a fair amount of the blame if the experiment has been a failure, even though I have been critical of Luke in the past I can't go along with the degree of hate that is being shown for Luke by some.

Nothing. I'm not worried about Brooks being an organizing halfback. To answer the poll question to me it depends on how he performs but it's a stupid poll because he will be our starting 7 unless something drastic happens like injuries.

I'm 100% confident Madge will drop Brooks if the team is better off without him in the team.

I disagree on this one. Is Brooks to blame for the Tigers poor performances for years. I don't think he is. I think it's the squads we've retained rather than just Brooks. I also think he is a first grader and you have to play someone as your 7.

I don't think Brooks is a failure for the club and it's not a failure if he gets sacked this season.

The club hasn't performed well and it sucks but it's not Luke Brooks fault. If he was a better player than would we have done better - yes. Have we had better options - no.

It’s not like we can go out and sign Cleary or Reynolds. Where we are as a club, we’d only be getting a player of the same calibre. Everyone wants to punt him, but no one wants to offer a replacement whose gonna charge us into the finals.

Im sure they'd love him back.

He was extended, not that long ago.

Has a reserve grade team to lead to the finals this year anyway.

Not right now and I don't think so in the past either but Hastings and Doueihi are going to be gunning for halves spots. If they are all fit it's 3 players into 2 positions. Maybe whoever doesn't get the spot slots somewhere else into the team but I can't see that lasting unless we are winning.

It'll be interesting how it all turns out next season. Does Brooks kill it and prove the doubters wrong ? Does Hasting show he is a quality NRL player ? Can Doueihi get his game together in the halves or does he slot into the team somewhere else ?

It seems a given by some that Hastings will be the one who outplays Brooks and Brooks is the one whose under pressure once AD gets back (if AD even comes back into the halves). I’m not as convinced.

Keep up mate...

Captain Jack is the man.
But you've got a problem with that too.

"He hasn't even put the jersey on yet."

7 Hastings
6 AD

Don't just make things up to justify your argument ... you spent that whole other thread explaining why he shouldn't be captain and now you claim no one's offered the replacement.

Whilst AD is out..
Peachy, Madden, Young Tyrone.

The thing is, Hastings doesn't have to do much to it play Brooks. I don't think anyone's labelling him the saviour, we just want some change. Simple.

But you know it’s not going to happen. Wish for it all you like, but we both know who the 7 will be.

Not if he doesn't improve. AD will.be back sooner than later
