Almost all of us expect next season to be write off. Some even saying the spoon.

But people crying over the possibility of loosing Luke Brooks. What's it going to matter.

It may actually help the team build a new identity.

Can't have it both ways lads.

If we are going to make a serious attempt at Top 8 ...you need him until at least trade time ....

I don't give up 6 months before the season starts.


I dont consider moving Brooks giving up.

It would be a revelation for this club and a fresh new start.

No more tanking and players not liking the way they are coached.

Starting the year with Hastings/ Madden is giving up, what's worse is you are one injury away from Madden/ Peachey.

I’d take a Damien Kennedy/Hodgo halves combo from the Magpie days over Madden/Hastings. The club has lost the plot if that’s the plan.

It was pretty publicly reported and Im pretty sure Mbye himself said the club told him he can look for someone to take him.

It's the outcome if Sheen's comes out and shuts down the talk of us wanting to let him go. Puts the onus on brooks and the Knights

He was still granted a release..

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that Moses Mbye has been granted a release from the final year of his playing contract and will depart the club at the end of the 2021 season.

The man appointed to try and fix the basket case that is Wests Tigers will arrive in Sydney on Sunday to begin work at the club’s Concord headquarters on Monday and immediately be faced with some major decisions.

Wests Tigers director of football Tim Sheens will finally make his long-awaited return to Australia after three months of false starts.

The first ticket item on top of his agenda will be what the Wests Tigers opt to do in relation to local junior halfback Luke Brooks.

Brooks is being courted by Newcastle as a replacement for Mitchell Pearce for next season with the Tigers halfback and Knights coach Adam O’Brien sharing the same management team.

When the issue was raised a fortnight ago Sheens got straight on the front foot and put out a strongly-worded statement stipulating Brooks was going nowhere for next season.

But as the days go by the issue continues to rear it’s head.

What is not up for debate is Brooks is by no means a huge supporter of Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire.

That much was ascertained in the Wests Tigers much-hyped end of season review.

The Tigers are also in the market for an experienced dummy-half with the club currently entertaining signing either Panthers hooker Api Korisau or Canberra No.9 Josh Hodgson.

By releasing Brooks the Tigers could continue to add to their $1.2 million war chest they’ve still got to spend for next season.

But then the question would be who is going to play in the halves with Jackson Hastings next year?

Outstanding talent Adam Doueihi — who should have won the club’s player of the year award over Brooks — sustained a second ACL injury to the same knee at the end of last season and is unlikely to be back before May at the earliest.

Jock Madden is a young gun with raps on him at the club but aside from that the Tigers’ depth in the halves is tested.

Sheens has quickly set about fixing the Tigers’ problematic football department by immediately putting the band back together by signing experienced recruitment scout Warren McDonnell.

Sheens and McDonnell were at the helm of the Tigers when the club won the premiership in 2005 and then opened a premiership window in 2009 and 2010.

The newly appointed Tigers football decision-makers must quickly make a call on what becomes of Brooks.

Pearce leaving frees up $600k for them... is Brooks not on $650k @Geo ? They have the money there for him if he wants it.
