Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

My question is. Despite all the conjecture about whether or not Brooks is a halfback. Does he himself see his best position as being a halfback? Or would he be happy to hand over the reigns to Madden or Jackson?
Last two weeks there has been a noticeable shift towards Madden leading the team around and kicking more in the first part of the game.

Souths missed the eight a couple of years in a row and the Broncos team he's joined is hardly world class. Reynolds is a premiership winning half and has steered the Bunnies to many finals series, he would know what it takes.
Sorry that was kinda my point. That the trajectory of player development would naturally come from the club's systems and roster quality.
The better the team the better the opportunities to learn and grow - at a more optimal rate.

It’s been reported that his contract deal is over a million next year. He‘s on $950k this year so I don’t doubt it

Reported in the press? We don't know what his remuneration package is so it is all speculation. It seems that everytime the Brook's posse want to bash him over the head a more outrageous figure is speculated.

And the reason why we were reduced from the Big 4
To just the Big 1.
To be honest with Brooks I can not tell if he is unlucky to be with the Tigers he would be great at Melbourne if it's just to much work for him because he doesn't have the players around him to help if he has no footy IQ or just wants to do enough to get by

Lots of potential

I replied to @jadtiger

“With TPAs I’d say he is.

But, if the nrl and our club were transparent we’d know. I don’t know any other professional sport in the world that isn’t transparent about player contracts. It’s a business after all.’

Can you see my point?

I love how every year the salaries of our players seem to grow, while somehow at the roosters their players sign contracts but by the end the media reports that their star players pay the club to let them play there.

I agree, the Rorters are the Masters of TPA's that is managed by group of business tycoons who are making a mockery of the NRL and the salary cap.

A lot of forum members have said he should move to hooking, and I agree. He’s quick off the mark, he passes well and he has a cheeky grubber behind the line in his bag of tricks.

What he doesn’t do well is high pressure, do or die situations. Moving into hooker would take that pressure off and let him open up his play immediately from the ruck.

Don't play dumb. Even a drunken rant full of expletives is more encouraging of a healthy debate than the intent for posting it on here is/was.

Apologies @Kul and @Geo if my wording is inflammatory. Also sorry @Chicken_Faced_Killa if they've offended you. Guess I didn't articulate it well enough that I found it disruptive to the forum.

you haven’t offend me and I am sure you haven’t offended anyone else here. Yep the original post was taking the piss and my response to you was very much tongue and cheek. But everyone has their own way of dealing with the mess we are in. Try not to worry so much about upsetting others and just do you.

Thanks mate, don't wish to make anyone ever feel uncomfortable tbh and I honestly can't not say anything.

Despite my beliefs of his worth/value for the team, I do however enjoy the spitballing and have found myself agreeing with others who have suggested that shifting his role may be best for us. Just until we can find some momentum and build on it.
I don’t see how you build momentum by positional changes? To build is to improve not necessarily change.

And I forgot to add that then when they go to sign another star player it turns out they have heaps of space in the cap because the departing player was actually on a huge contract and now that they're gone they can buy twice as many star players. Incredible system they have, glad the laser eyes of the media have managed all of a puff piece on Nick politis.
