Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

I'm interested to see how Brooksys career plays out....

Will he be a Tiger 4 Life ?
Will he end up at Newcastle or another club ?
Will he ever play finals ? (Hopefully this year)

Either way, it's an interesting tale, the career of Brooks.
Put one class player/leader next to him and presto, he looks good again! You can’t see he’d go well in a good system well you aren’t much of a judge in my books. (Still on too much money but not his fault)

Imagine a line up that consisted of

1 Daine
AD in the centres
6 Brooks
7 Jacko
9 Api
13 Schuster

Sheeesh

Who are we replacing him with?
Scotty D ?
I’m talking in an ideal world. Top 4 chasing. Would have to be Paps/teddy/turbo/Ponga/Latrell/Manu

Edit: keep a close watch on Cobbo/Suaalii and pay FB money if warranted

Think you need an elite #1

Suffer Parra!

Don’t get me wrong I think he’s got potential but I think he’ll keep getting dinged up, bevan French 2
Indeed.

He looked scared of contact for the first 5 rounds.
Came back strong and now he's gone down again.

Rough.

Still young and plenty of skill and natural flair. Will come down to how hard he works on his slight frame. Brett Stewart had a long successful career as a little fella.

Don't get me wrong I have been one of Brooks harshest critics but I think last week could be the turning point for Brooksy. Slotting that field goal would have been a huge confidence booster and he will take that confidence into Sunday's game.

Great take mate

Brooks at five-eighth analysis, vs South Sydney, Round 8 2022

Brooks (marked in red) starts on the right-hand side. He counts the numbers, sees that Souths have 4 defenders for 4 attackers, and switches sides.

At the same time, there is also a player late getting on-side (marked in blue). Souths already have their numbers wrong and a guy out of play. This means that there will always be an overlap.

When Brooks gets the ball out the back from Hastings, he has 3 runners - one out front (Seyfarth) and two out the back (Laurie and T'oa a little deeper).

Hastings holds the first set of defenders up, which creates a 5-on-3 situation. There is no time for the cover defenders to come across, so the centre has to make the right decision or we score.

Then what happens next is a magic trick from Daine Laurie. It's a blink and you miss it moment. The ball is 100% being passed to T'oa. Mid-flight, Laurie runs at the line of the ball and pretends that he is going to catch the ball. He looks straight at Campbell Graham to trick him into thinking that he was going to receive the ball. Had he not done that, Graham would have had a chance to tackle T'oa.

After this it is an easy draw and pass for Maumalo to score.

Where u getting your stats from?

The Hastings and Brooks combo is working and we still have a decent amount of money under the cap so not sure where the problem lies apart from your dislike of Brooks and your bias for Doueihi
the Douhie lovers are death riding the Brooks Hastings combo.
Let Hastings decide who he wants at 6 and if it is Brooks then find another position in the team Adam
Likewise if it is Douhie Hastings wants at 6 then Brooks has to play 9 or 14 or look for another club
