Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

If you are going to get rid of someone competent that tries, you better have someone better to replace him with. I have never heard a sensible suggestion from this thread.

If we can get Cleary or Cherry-Evans that would be a good move. The next tier - Hunt (folds under pressure), Hughes (a fullback that does not lead or generally play 1st receiver), Reynolds (more fragile than a new-born kitten) are certainly better on their day but are big risks and every one else is worse in my opinion, which is also why they get paid le

Brooks shouldn't have any fans after last night.

Guys rinsed.
Needs to find himself a new home 🏡

Best half out there....

IMO - when Naden back in a couple of weeks the backline for me would be
Laurie,Nofo,Toa, Naden ,Maumalo,Douehi, Hastings.
The only slots I could see for Brooks is center instead of Toa or bench utility
after 10 years his kicking game is just not good enough for key playmaker role

Speaking of Sivo why didn't we go right in attack last night? Sivo was hobbling for half the game. I wouldn't want to be cut in half by him either but surely injured he could have been targeted more or kicked towards.
Obviously the left edge half's fault, same as last week when Roberts saw absolutely no ball over there.

Catching the replay on Kayo now and watched that play about fifteen minutes ago.

It was obviously a set play and clearly set up and orchestrated by Hastings. Not executed well by Brooks, yeah, sure, blame him for that part. It is though not fair to blame him for the "brain dead option" part, as that was Hastings' role.
If it was Hastings call, he deserves criticism as well. It was 100% the wrong option

Why would you play the best half at the club in Reserve Grade - Makes no sense.....
Douihei is a superior 6 in my view. Hastings is a superior 7.

Brooks plays when he wants to and as our highest paid player and a veteran his leadership is poor. His 5th tackle options and decision making are poor. We will run last anyway I’d prefer to see how Hastings and Douihei play.

It’s more about attitude, decision making and lack of leadership. Addition by subtraction with Brooks.

Exactly. Agree with the lot.

I agree with your line-up but disagree with allowing brooks near the team, yes occasionally he can do something really good, but more often he does something great for our opponents,‽???

Both were outplayed by Brooks last night...
Cold. Hard. Facts

Brooks may have a lot of mistakes in him, but if he doesn't play, every time we have to kick from within our own half, the opposition will be bringing the ball back to at least the 30m every time. At least Brooks can land a kick near the opposition's goal line.
Last nite was the first game he’s ever kicked long .. too little too late .. punt him .. pay $500k to piss him off
