Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Farah was a representative player earned the right to get that contract.
There has never been a player with more focus around him that has delivered so little and that won't change while ever he is at this club.
The media have put a figure on him and whether it's correct or not won't matter because it is out there and with that comes the pressure to deliver - just like all the other players who's big dollar values are speculative at other clubs.
We have gone nowhere by persisting with him and his game has not improved by being loyal to the club. I would like to see him do well but can't see it happening here and that's no good for us or him.

Farah didn't deliver us finals either....
5 Years the Origin hooker couldn't take us there - Almost half of them with Benji.

We haven't got to where we want with him in the side... Correct.
But he's doing the job better than the other blokes - And has been basically all year.
Remove him and what - The other blokes are going to be better - I think you're in for disappointment.
Furthermore... Doueihi is barely making his own tackles with him running past them most of the time, He's certainly not going to cover defend like Brooks does... We'll go backwards there also.
Lollipops for everyone.

Yes, that's my fault for getting into debates with people who follow players instead of clubs. I am convinced that one of Paws' sons that they routinely refer to is Brooks.
You probably would have said the same when I supported Dennis Bendall, Bing Pringle, Blocker, Benny, Junior Pearce, Mick Neil and the Whizz.

That was obvious - Or you'd already know there's no better halves at the club than Brooks.
AD 6
Hastings 7

That's 2.
Give madden a chance.
Sure we have some promising juniors who would give it a shot.
I don't understand the persistence with Luke

I’ve seen you make comments like this more than once. You legit seem to think supporters are to blame. Do you not comprehend that it does not matter what supporters think? That it doesn’t matter if Brooks has a million backers. What matters is the club. They are the ones making the decisions that you should be directing your frustrations at. Not a few faceless plebs on a stupid forum.

I’ve never claimed that fans are responsible nor have I seen others do it so you can quit peddling your incoherent nonsense, fool.

No, supporters aren’t to blame. What I’ve said is that they are happy to accept mediocrity from players and blame all the teams problems on the coach which is a trait they share with a lot of people within the organisation. Pointing that out is not blaming them for the teams problems. That goes well beyond them.

Can you comprehend that or would you like me to use smaller words?

Can I use the same arguments you guys use to defend brooks, to defend laurie's position in this team? He cops a lot from brooks supporters, you know what, screw that he'd be an absolute gun in a better team 😛

That is my opinion. It's based on the fact that Mitchell Pearce who is a better halfback that won a premiership with the club and routinely led them to the finals was turfed because they were not satisfied that he took them far enough, often enough.
Mitchell Pearce a better player than Brooks? 🙂🙂🙂🙂 Pearce always had the benefit of the best players around him that Rorter Uncle Nick could buy. With all that rorting, Pearce should of won every premiership he ever played in. He was particularly shown up when the idiots keep picking him for SOO & couldnt win there either with all the quality talent around him. Peacre was cut cause he was crap & always was. You are entitled to your opinion .I just find it ironic that you discredit Brooks as a player with not 1/3 of the talent that Pearce was surrounded with & you think he was better?

Pearce was a better half than Brooks - Fairs Fair...
And that's fine.
He also won a spoon in that side though.... And struggled at the Knights.

But he was in the best 5 halves in the comp week in week out...
But there's only 5 halves in every comp that can be in the best 5,
Unfortunately, They've never been here at WT's (Apart from Prince a while back)

It’s really pathetic. No wonder we’re considered a joke club and other fans mock our fans.

Paw, batboy, and GRN are just hanging for the next ‘Brooks to be unleashed’ article to try and justify their support for a player who has never delivered.

“But…but.. Hastings and AD had bad games”whilst conveniently ignoring the rubbish Brooks has fished out for 9 seasons and that Hastings is playing injured and AD is 3 games back from an ACL and playing out of position.
After years and years of excuses... we are now at "Brooks is the best option at the club."

Laughable. 😂

And how they are any more excepting of mediocrity than you? You still turn up and support the club every week. You’re no different Thomas.

Sorry cant agree. Some players are given all the oppurtunites and dont make it, some are given very little & make it. Mitchell Pearce belongs in the first category. And when i thought we could agee on something else.... 🙂

Neither have you if you think brooks is any good

You keep missing the point - Maybe I should draw you a picture, Some sort of Graph maybe...
I didn't say he was Andrew Johns,

I said he's better than the other options at the club...
Which he is... By some way.

Yes he was better. He wasn't an origin halfback's arsehole but he was a very good club half in his prime.

I’d say consistently defending a poor excuse of a halfback for 9 years and blaming the coach for all the teams problems.

It’s one thing to support the team and it’s players, it’s another to being so blinded by being a player fanboy that you’d rather the team continue to fail with that player rather than try something different. That’s not supporting the club, that’s about being arrogantly stupid.

Brooks fanboys don’t care about the team, they care about justifying their 9 years of blind loyalty to a average player.

I think you have missed the point of every single counter post completely. Regardless of how many times it has been drilled into yours and others heads. You aren’t alone though, so at least there is that.
