Brooks has always been a first grade halfback, but is now becoming a quality one.

Sorry FG , but there was a lot of the time when he was lucky to be selected in first grade, let alone be classed as a first grade Halfback, but as you said, he is beginning to be a Quality Half, and I hope he continues to improve, cause he’s still got a lot to learn,
The Rocks and Diamonds syndrome is still there, but he’s getting there

I think the key to Brook's form this year is fitness. I have heard he was not a great trainer till Cleary came on the scene. Apparently he was flogged during the preseason and is now reaping the benefits.

I also think having Benji there and not "look at me look at me" Moses has played a role

No doubt that improved fitness is playing a big role, particularly in staying in games and better decisions as he keeps fatigue at bay longer. A generally quicker play the ball also plays a big part.

As for Brooks previously being deserving of relegation, no way. The kid was far from the best and likely never will be, but he has always been above at least a few of his first grade peers and way above those in ISP. People's expectations were the major issue.

I have been one of Luke’s biggest critics over the years but ATM I feel for the guy ,not only has he never had a mature and experienced 5/8 next to him ..except tied legs Benji .
Now he has no hooker giving him good ball, he has impressed me over the last 6 weeks or so with his defence and running game. If things do not improve for him soon he should ask for a release as the form he is in there would be interested party’s… also think 5/8 could be a move for him with his new found defence and running game.

Reality is that Luke Brooks is the only settled member of the spine.

The attack is dead ordinary. A good defence will hold out until we make a mistake, and we are good at making them.

Cleary has a job on his hands.

Im not convinced Marshall is doing enough, the hooking role is a joke. Tui isnt doing enough at the back, Thompson is better on the wing.

Interesting few weeks ahead to turn it around.
