My guess is that when Mitch Moses returns to fitness, one of Sironen or Brooks will bump up into NSW Cup. They may well shuffle between both. Miller's demotion though does make it all a little more murky as to what will happen.

I suspect it will start off as:

NSW: 6.SIronen 7.Miller
NYC: 6.Moses 7.Brooks

Yeah there all 'GUNS' playing in lower grades, but unfortunatly not dropping over paid overrated current first graders seem to be the Tigers way..

The only problem with us finding a 7,,is always picking Benji at 6!!! Whilst Benji is there,,no-one will be able to play their natural game. How good is Brooks? This year Laurie Daley selected a squad of 20+ FUTURE JUNIOR ORIGIN POSSIBLES, he picked, Brooks, Moses (WHO HAD YET to even play a U/20's game!!!) There were plenty of POSSIBLES, Daley did pick that had played 1st Grade!!!

I watch a lot of junior footy (NYC,Schoolboys, SG Ball plus a lot of rugby) and IMO Luke Brooks is the best young half back Ive seen.
At the carnival at Port macq, experienced talent scouts were all in raptures with him.

He is a star, an out and out star.

Questions on his defence are unfounded he is an excellent defender and his size is of no concern, he has the big bum and thighs and has a similar shape to Andrew Johns and **Matt Orford.**I dont think we should rush him, assuming we cant make the semies in the last few rounds Id play him off the bench last few games and maybe start him in round 25 and 26 a bit of taste, another full off season and I think next year be ready to play and do a job, the year after he will be strong.

I watched most of that schoolboy tournament Goose and leading in to it the rave was all about Mitch Moses - he was good but i was far more impressed with Brooks - he was a much more all round and mature player - the funny thing is at the time i wrote on here about the carnival and compared Brooks to a young Matt Orford - i think i said he was more like your old style chunky half back - if he is brought along properly i think the kid will be a hit.

just saw the line up for the SG ball grandfinal.. brooks didnt play that game (injury?), Mark Daoud played at halfback and apparently carved the raiders up, he is playing parra nyc atm

He reminded me of Noddy Kimmorley when i saw him….oompa loompa

Great kicking game

Not sure about the Noddy reincarnation but when I have watched him play live he has so much 'time' to make the play. This to me means he is always thinking 2 or 3 plays ahead and has a very good organising/football brain and for us to be successful in the post Robbie/Benji era this is exactly the type of player we will need.

btw, to compare him to johns means he must have immaculate defence and be able to bring down props in big tackles. i have big doubts brooks is even close to this.

MTD it's not me comparing him to johns, when brooks went to a training camp with several other young guns runs by johns and others, it was Andrew johns himself who made that comment..
Cheers

If that is the Tigers plans I hope to see Brooks playing NSW Cup rather than NYC

All he will learn in NYC is that it is far different from NRL when he gets there

NYC this year is appropriate for him, he only finished SG Ball and school last year.

Brooks is no chance this season of playing FG

Warren McDonald was at one of my teams training sessions couple months ago and he said, "I would like to be as sure of winning lotto as I am brooks will make his debut this year".. Said he will be 18th man at times when they travel too

That camp was more of a future probables camp then a current possibles

People talk as if the step up to NRL for a schoolboy is insurmountable. It happens every year. We ourselves have three prime examples of this in Benji Marshall, Chris Lawrence and Keith Galloway. The best teenagers are more than good enough for the NRL and Luke Brooks is good enough. If he happened to be coming up at some other clubs he'd already be playing first grade.

Wild speculation but I dare say he'd be playing this weekend had Miller been injured rather than dropped.

I agree with that. With Brooks though he is that far ahead of the kids that one wouldn't know until he was thrown in there.

The future spine for the WT looks good when you have Robbie, Brooks, Benji and Teddy. Add Sirro at lock and Marika on the wing and we have a bright future.
