Imo $900,000 a year is a bit high for Brooks. Whats he on now $550,00 you would think he would be happy with $750 - 800,000\. But hopefully he puts pen to paper and we can concentrate on filling the last position.

Desperation Imo there is no way I would pay that .. that is a lot of money for someone that does little in the red zone ..most will be happy with the signing at that price .. hopefully a topline 5/8 is signed for the organising side of things .

It’s not desperate if that’s his market value. Halfbacks don’t grow on trees and he’s the Dally M halfback of the year.
 
Geez the kid stepped up bigtime
New fullbacks, halves partner, edge runners and hookers all year and still showed maturity and growth beyond previous years

Is he the best in the game no, but we would be nuts not to pay top dollar for a young half who is on the rise.

We won’t get better on the market - he is worth 900k based on market value of halves at the moment.

It may be exactly that, with TPAs making it the 900k.

And if it is a 3yr offer as reported, that would be after next year @ 550 or thereabouts? Which start to sound pretty fair to me.

I think he is worth that to us. Hope the deal is done and dusted soon.

If another club signed him for that money or evenly marginally less i would be dirty.

A genuine NRL half and will only get better behind a good pack and regular 6 partner.

Madge's and Clubs job to get him that.
 
Where are we up to Tyga? I know things can change quickly but your solid tip is almost two weeks overdue? Not bagging you at all, just hopeful your tip is solid
 
Maybe the figures reported are made up..like they mostly are for all players..

Correct…there was a TPA matter that was sorted this week...now they are just waiting for a bit of PR timing to announce it...thus the snippets coming out via media...the WT have become very media savvy the last 2 years....this will be touted as a coup and a show of confidence and support for Maguire
 
It's a smart move - sends a message that if your'e good enough and you fit our plans we are prepared to pay top dollar.

Never thought he'd leave.

On a side note how good is our management going. Tigerap mentioned we have got tech savvy. Its true, 3 years ago the Wests Tigers home page was an amateur hack. Now it looks professional as well as our recruiting and media releases.

Its good to have a professional side to support.. :supporter: :master:
