Tyson Gamble. Madge will toughen up his defence next year & has a very good baseline for a young kid.

Not Gamble. Demps said he's not good enough.

Facts.
He's a flop.

Maybe we should chase that boom youngster at the Eels that NZ wants and pair him up with Brooks.

He's already better than Gamble without even playing a game.

If we are talking facts . . . for him to be a flop, he'd have to have played more than 1 NRL game ? IIRC, he's played the game against Newcastle( where the entire team was woeful), and the trial against Cronulla( again, we were outclassed across the field, especially our right side) He scored a try against Cronulla.
Maybe he is a dud, maybe he's a superstar in the making . . . but it's a long and BS bow to draw to call him a dud as fact after 1 game.
He has a good attacking bent about him. Can grubber, too. Creative and tricky with ball in hand. As someone said . . ." a very good baseline"
He's put on a lot of bulk onto his slight frame, and with a different coach, who knows ?
I don't think anyone here said Gamble is a "boom" player. He shows a lot of potential, but more importantly, he is signed with us. We don't have to go chasing anyone.
If he plays 10 NRL games and is no good . . . _then_ we might call him a dud. Even maybe call it fact.

Gamble has the qualities that can not be coached ….reads a game ..good kicking and passing game ...now for the rub coaching can improve the rest so who knows he looked very good with Drinkwater inside of him...time will tell maybe he just might step up it is in his court!

If I remember correctly Lote got got hooked in his broncos debut and look how he turned out. Jury is still out imo.

To me a dud is someone who plays a lot of first grade on above average dollars and just dosent perform.I certainly couldnt put Gamble in that category players like Norman Lichaa and Eastwood seem more suitable

Wishes and dreams - when you think of the quality players that have slipped through our fingers - it makes me weep.

I dream of what might have been: Fafita and Woods in the front row; a mature Simon Dwyer in the backrow and Marty Tapau at lock; TMM at 5/8; Teddy out the back and JAC on the wing. That's the makings of a top 4 side.

?
Amazing.

Our side would pale compared to the bulldogs. Jeez the be let some good players go.

Funny game

There'll never be a bigger mistake in league than releasing Thurston to keep Sherwin.

Not suggesting it’s equal but Ponga leaving to keep Coote is shaping up to be a bad one…

1\. Barba
2.Curtis Rona
3\. Tim lafai
4\. Josh morris
5\. Brett morris
6\. Reynolds
7\. Mbye
8\. Graham
9\. Cook
10\. Klemmar
11\. M taupau
12\. Kasiano
13\. Finucane

14\. Thompson
15\. Herman esse
16 a woods
17\. M Ennis

Agreed about Fifita. Not what we want. Apparently he was the one that cost the Sharks a million dollar a year sponsor.

If Musgrove can fire then I'm actually liking our forward pack. Especially if this Mikaele is as good as everyone is saying.

I like ET but I really wish we had a lock that runs over 100-120 metres a game.

look i know most people dont want dickheads at there club, but lets face it most of the dickends are the better players and look where it has got us never signing dickheads, ANSWER no finals in how many years. if the NRL register them i really dont care what they have done as long as they preform once we sign them.

Good point BP.
I can't stand the flog, though he does appear to be maturing somewhat… However if he can crack 100m+ for us weekly and get a few balls away too.... He can act however he likes imo... And I'll. Cheer him

For 2020 and beyond….Who do you see as Brooks ideal halves partner?

*Excluding the players that have their long term future signed elsewhere like Nathan Cleary, Shawn Johnston, Gareth Widdop, Cameron Munster, ect.

Tyson Gamble. Madge will toughen up his defence next year & has a very good baseline for a young kid.

Not Gamble. Demps said he's not good enough.

Oh well, that's it then.

He helped get a Thurston-less NQ to a GF though in 2017\. I think he could compliment Brooks. As you say Brooks is very direct whereas TMM is more your Benj/Milford/Johnston stepping, scheming type. Good foil for each other. TMM would be better than S Johnston because I feel it would better suit Brooks "owning" the team.

Someone above said TMM is overrated, I disagree. As things stand he will probably be third in line at NQ this year. I would rate his ability at least equal to Grub, his talent greater than Grub, his age is MUCH better than Grub and he would cost about half of what Grub costs.

**Its all wishes and dreams but thats what I would do**

Wishes and dreams - when you think of the quality players that have slipped through our fingers - it makes me weep.

I could make an ace side for any club who has lost players, **it's both meaningless and pointless** when you consider the individual reasons for each player leaving.

Where's the halfback in that dream side anyway?

You'r right it is meaningless and pointless - and about as pointless as your comments I might add. I have always wished we were able to retain those players; that's the only point I was making.

I didn't suggest that we are the only side that have lost good players - so your first observation, whilst true, is beside the point.

I didn't name a dream side - I named 7 players that have passed through our hands. So, your observation about a missing half back is also beside the point.

I understand that my wishes and dreams are impractical and unrealistic. But who cares ? They are only dreams.

Fair enough, I don't mean to cause offence.

To be fair Demps,we all have an opinion on players, some good some bad, however we should give Gamble at least a few games in the NRL before we cast him as a dud..He has talent and with good coaching could become a very handy aquisition for us…Brooks always has had huge wraps on him,but it has taken a long while for him to have a great year as he did this year,Benji by his side and good coaching by IC has benefitted him...just my opinion having seen players given no chance at club level to make the grade, but with hard work and good coaching have been reasonable players...

Being unfair on Gamble. His worst came when Quadja left for England. Formed a great combination with Drinkwater, but the wheels fell off when he was required to run the team. His one game in FG he stunk it up with the rest of the side. They were all godawful that day.

Bit of a whisper out of the Wests Tigers that Luke Brooks might be close to agreeing a new deal. If so, great coup for coach Michael Maguire and great show of loyalty by a kid who could have earned millions by starting a bidding war on the open market

They won't announce any signings while Bennett and Seibold are hogging the headlines.

That's what politicians do when they want to hide some bad news, they wait until some other story is taking all the headlines.
