Not surprised a bunch of players are angry.

You have to think:

1. He's our highest paid player;
2. Seemingly immune from being dropped;
3. Has been given award completely undeservingly; and
4. Despite all this, is arguably the worst player in our 17 and one of the worst players in the competition.

It's not like we can do much worse than coming 13th in the past season, but there's no way we'll be able to rebuild with him there. It's at the point where if a team came along and offered even 25% of his salary, we'd be stupid not to take it at the risk of further alienating other players in our team.

Not saying he shouldn’t have been dropped, but who did we have to drop him for?

Madden?

Atleast with Hastings aboard there is far greater competition, but it remains to be seen if he can cut it in Australia. Kev Naiqama was a star in the super league grand final today lol

Kev would be like LM over there

For my fellow Brooks haters, I believe this is the best case scenario leading into the future. Brooks undoubtedly starts the year in the halves but is under the microscope early. He has a couple stinkers early and due to the hopeful continuation of KOE cup, someone like Madden is Brought in as Maguire will be feeling the heat too because someone in such an important position not playing to scratch, effects his job too. Brooks has a year in and out of first grade and in and out of the starting side, much like Milford at Brisbane this year and the club negotiate for him to leave the club with one year to go.

Sad reality is the club simply won’t cover what could be more than half his salary for him to play at another team for 2 years and as much as I’d like him gone ASAP, I’ve come to terms that he will be with us all of next season

This seems to be the consensus. It’s slowly dawning on people he’s not going anywhere. I tried telling you all a month ago but none of you would have it.

I heard a week after the bulldogs loss his manager was actively shopping him around but to the shock of everyone but the club and his manager, the market was very small.

I think the biggest problem with our team is competition for spots

Biggest competition will be probably around halfway through the year when Doueihi returns, KOE cup is well under way and we have the half options of peachey, madden, Brooks, Doueihi and Peach

Sounds about right…Brooks seemed to kick his arse into gear around when madden got put on the bench and his spot felt threatened. He had about a 6 week purple patch then went back into cruise control again

His entire career he has just felt … comfortable. Next year is probably the first time he will feel like he actually has competition.

Got to say, the club is tone deaf and ham-fisted in their thinking and actions. With the team playing so poorly in the last few games why were any points awarded in those games???? Surely no-one deserved 'coach / management credit' in those games.

Brooks had a good 2 months midseason where he could have racked up some points.

Apparently cause he was rubbish in round 25 that none of that matters . And he was rubbish no doubt about it , but go back and check the 3,2,1 on this site and you’ll notice his name was everywhere from about round 5 through 22.

I’m not defending him , he shouldn’t have got it , it should have been AD , but if it is a points accumulation, which it is , then by the forums very own metric , he would have been up there . It more points out how the 3,2,1 system is outdated .
