Seriously what do we do with him. Defence is one of the best in the team. A couple of kicks today were spot on, some weren’t. His attacking options and performance is just very ordinary most of the time. He looks like he has lost speed, but that may just be the way he is playing. I would really like him to come good but what do you do.

I guess he has until the end of the year to turn it around and put in some good performances.

Hastings will be 7 and Brooks at 14. He can fill in at half (if we are desperate) and hooker.

Brooks would be a terrible 14.
Huge pass on that.

I get the feeling if the team finds some kind of consistency he will ride the form up and start to get it together...

problem is, we need him to drive our form, not ride it.

Yes it is quite frustrating. He is never able to put all of his skills together at once. E.g. for a few years there his running game was really good as well as his short balls. Now that's deserted him. His short kicking game has come back when it disappeared for a while. His long kicks are good at the moment.

I think a performance like that is super frustrating. The things he did well were very good, and the things he did poorly caused our attack to breakdown. I don't know what to make of it all. The good gives you hope, the bad makes you shake your head.

Could bring him on in the 13 role when the other team's forwards are tiring and just tell the bloke to run and don't worry about the playmaking

He still looks like little Bo-Peep most of the time in attack ..
Glad I’m not the coach 😂

Thought our halves controlled the second half ok for the most part. Lots to work on with our clunky attack but spirit was there. Means nothing if we go to water next week.

Either way I think Hastings will be playing at 7 unless something drastically changes with Brooks' game. I cant see any other spot than 14 for him

I’d give madden a shot first and put Hastings at 13
Brooks can go to seek.com if he don’t improve

He is not the half we need, we have waited nearly 160 games, times up I am afraid, even Ennis was critical of him today

a lot
I guess he has until the end of the year to turn it around and put in some good performances.

I was at the game , and he engaged the line early , and gave the ball to AD/ Laurie a lot . This in turn allowed early ball for the backs which lead to a lot of full chances / half chances . He pushed up around the ball , and must have ready for second chances at least half a dozen times .
He controlled the general play , tackled hard .
This is exactly what you want from your half . In fact by being the first option so many times , it forced the defence to jump out at him , which in turn created far more time for AD down the right.

Played well particularly in defence.
I think we need to see how it pans out.
If I was Madge I would just step back a bit and turn him loose and see what story he can write. Got a feeling he is trying to play within a structure he is not comfortable with.

I just want him to stretch the opp D inside their 20...he just has never done it. Ennis and even Voss, who rarely criticises, repeatedly pointed it out today.

Laurie linked and created overlaps...AD took the line on and looked dangerous...

Brooksy just never does and all the stats back up his lack of creativity in the opp 20. He actually looks way better from broken field stuff 40-60 meters out.

Without Brooks we don't win today. What was it four or five try scoring opportunities he set up.

Dunno 🤷‍♂️
Your telling the story ..
I’d say 1

Because he’s first receiver . Unless you’re hitting the under ball , it’s about engaging the line to create shape for your outside men .
