Apparently Canberra half Williams is certain to return to Super League openly reported in the UK home sick and partner is pregnant.
How would this go offer a swap deal BROOKS for TAPINE Ricky being ex lalf back might get the best out of Brooks.
Then we could wait for the thread How did we let Brooks go.

I'm not advocating getting rid of Brooks BUT if Williams wants to go home now and Brooks wants a change of scenery I'd be more inclined to do Willams to Wigan, Hastings to Tigers and Brooks to Canberra. Like for like replacements.

Purely hypothetical of course.

What do we get we've already got Hastings and would have to pay something to Raiders if we don't get the swap.

We’d have to wait 5 more years for that thread to happen

Yesterday Flanagan was hooked mid game looks like reserve grade for him after 8 games ..Brooks just can not cut it after 150 games and is the first selected every week ... Why is this ?

You shouldn’t comment on footy if you don’t realise the difference in situations..

The bulldogs actually turn up to play and defend, they actually put in an effort. The biggest issue for them is scoring points.

We are the complete opposite, we can score points but we leak 30+ and let the easiest try’s in. So hooking brooks (one of the best defenders in the team) not only does that not make any sense it’s also the stupidest thing we could do.

Jesus shouldn’t even have to explain that.

Can we give up on how wonderful Brooks defence is?
It was terrible and he has improved a lot … but he’s not there only because he can make the odd tackle.
To put it in context DCE has better tackle efficiency numbers…. and offers everything else Brooks doesn’t as the ‘Cherry’ on top.

You can have a go at Brooks for all the deficiencies in his game, and trust me, I know there are A LOT. But one thing you can not do is deny him his strengths, which is the FACT that he is one of if not the best defensive halfback in the game.

Not saying it isn't one of the stronger aspects of his game but it is a strength because he offers nothing else.
His figures ,even in defence, aren't really outstanding.
As I said - DCE has better figures, so does Cleary, Mitch Pearce and even George Williams... most probably more if I was bothered to look.

Does Jesus understand NRL? Have we thought about a contract for Jesus on the coaching staff? If he/she can explain stuff, that's a good start.

Yeah man. I wouldn't normally say coaches can perform miracles, but this guy seems legit. We should definitely try sign him.

I mean DCE tackle efficiency is 88.2% and brooks is 87% not that different. DCE has one more forced drop out. Brooks has 4 more try assists.

Brooks doesn’t seem that bad compared to the origin halfback. Just imagine how much better brooks statistics would be with some big names playing next to him.

Both DCE and Brooks do a lot of one on one tackles. There aren’t many halves who can nail David Fifita one on one. Brooks is also one of the few players in our roster who has footy nous. He doesn’t play well under structure when he’s focussed on lining up all the other ducks. I would love to see him in a quality team with some freedom of choice.
Sure, his kicks have become subdued and he doesn’t have a flick pass, but he’s got everything else you want in a 7. If he went to Storm he’d be the blues 7.

He'd do well with a 2009 Rob Lui type playing outside him.

That’s a good idea. Could work. When Madge gave him a run at 6 he had Benji at 7 who had a single focus..get the ball to Nofa, and took most of the plays in the red zone. Brooks at 6 could play an opportunist role like Walker does with Reynolds game managing.

I don't think Benji was ever a 7, LOL and played his best with organisational 7s outside him.

This has been discussed in depth for years.

Brooks doesn't have the smarts for a 7 personally, whereas Mitch Moses does... they shoulda swapped these guys around early.
