Did you hear him respectfully approach the referee when the Doueihi try was disallowed? I believe it was the correct decision but Brooks rightly pointed out it needs to be refereed consistently. His actions were every bit of a leader.

Why when someone criticises brooks do his fans come out and say "it's not his fault we lost" I literally have not seen ANYONE say it's only his fault we lost, he did play crap though.

I believe his conversion rate in terms of sparking the attack is very good. When the Sharks forwards are rolling through the centre what is a halfback supposed to do? A case could be made for him being the hardest hitter in the team.

I'm a Brooks fan but today I can see we're not going to go anywhere with him in the team. A halfback directs traffic and needs to be loud and if no one is following he goes in himself and die for the team (lead by example) but I don't think it's in him. There are moments in the game that he needed to get smashed (tackled) and stands up again as if nothing happened and soldiers on. It's just not him.

He doesn't have the X factor.

Cleary was a great coach. We actually performed above expections at the time. Just was not great with contracts and player worth.

Brooks is a good half but does not have that X factor that we all expect him to have. Sometimes I feel like he's just going through the motions and haven't got enough instinctive play.
