Good to see benji make a GF. Another player we had to move on so Brooks can go to the next level... still waiting after 170 games and $900k salary package a yr to produce/ lead this side.... I welcome jackson hastings to the number 7 next yr.

Brooks needs a fresh start. I would offer him to Raiders for one of their young backs. I think Brooks is a running 5/8 and has played in wrong position for his skill set.

Our boys need to fire up and find a balance being playing controlled, structured and playing aggressive, hard and fast.
I watch games with the better teams and they make a lot metres off hard running, strength and speed where we seem to be one of the worser teams in this regard... few ineffective hit ups, some side ways running from Nofo and a bomb... bad field possession all that.
I guess that comes down to the coaching.
Like to see this improved next year.

What Demps said...It is not even the opposition entire pack. On many occasions it has taken just 1 single pig to tear through our forwards. Seyfarth has some mongrel in him, for sure.

Brooks and Madge are like oil and water. The club has made its choice and should move brooks on this offseason. Madden is serviceable at 7 and Hastings is a dominant half at 6. By all means keep looking for the next big thing to come through but we can’t play the same style of football next year and expect a different result. Maybe a new coach could have got more out of Brooks but that can’t happen now. This club can’t have another year like 2021, we need a new direction even if it’s a step backwards to a young 7 who has the potential. Hastings will anchor the halves

Since the club lacks a great 7, who is the best 6? I'm trying to limit my expectations to blokes we have, or could recruit realistically.
Who can play wide, both sides of the field, slot in at first receiver, have the best running game, be a second kicker? Much easier to pick this out of Brooks (if he is here), AD and Hastings. Then we need a 7 who can get them the ball, kick and tackle. Madden, or even Flanno junior, become options. Once we do this, we basically do what sticky did with Wighton and we can not change every month as Madge has been.
I'm expecting the spoon next year, although things can change. If we are truly a development club, make the call on the 6 ASAP and bring in our young 3/4s over coming seasons.
There are lots of ways to compete, a gun 7 will help you win the comp, we are really aiming for 8th though and lots of average 7s can get you there. Issue with Brooks is more culture/ history of failure.
