I hope so. I actually think he is following a very limited gameplan.

If it was not based on coaches direction, surely the endless procession of mindless bombs from 40m out would have earned him a stint in reserve grade. It is no coincidence that he does it, our 5/8 (regardless of who it is) does it and anyone replacing him does it.

If he believes in himself and is being shopped around, he should be jumping at the chance to play somewhere where he can play behind a dominant pack and show his skills.

Didn't Sheens recruit Brooks at some ridiculously young age due to his talent? Now with Sheens aboard the team may play the style of footy WTs have in its DNA.

Sheens is not and probably never will be, the coach again, stop daydreaming it’s 2005.

Sheens didnt "recruit" Brooks, Brooks is a Balmain junior that steadily came through the junior reps until given his debut by Mick Potter.

This will be Brooks year!

This is finally his team!

He will finally have a decent pack of forwards!

Brooks is a leader!

I’m not so sure Cleary can take credit for Brooks’ good form. It was a time of upheaval at WT when a few players were in need of good form to get contracts with other clubs. Brooks also had a few decent attacking players around him..Tedesco, Moses, coupled with an experienced, no nonsense forward pack.
Cleary took the Panthers from 5th to 14th in 2019, while WT held onto 9th. He can’t be judged by Nathan’s performances, similarly, Flanagan can’t be judged on his son’s performances alone.

Ha, now who does Maguire report to so he can get his instructions?

It’s a mystery. Sheens has had about 4 different job titles and he hasn’t arrived in the country.

He was signed to our club otherwise he would not have been at WTs. I recall reading advice Sheens had visited the Brooks' home to sign him up. I am happy to be corrected but that is my recollection.

He’s in charge of everything football related. For better or worse, it’s his club now. It’s a bold move handing him the keys to the castle, risky too.

Do you have any idea how management structures work?

TW I know you're a big fan of Madge but noone, including Madge, would think he's still in control. Sheens seems to be now in charge of everything football related. It's yet to be seen if it's a good thing or not.

But he wont tell the coach how to coach, no manager would?
You don't buy a dog and bark yourself.
TBH, I don't think Sheens is capable of doing it any longer.

I think Sheens will be telling Madge it's his way or the highway - to get into line or get out like Hartigan. Sheens is not a hands off guy. If you're expecting him to sit back and leave Madge alone I think you'll be disappointed.

But I agree, it remains to be seen if Sheens does have it any longer, but the last 3 years have shown that Madge definitely doesn't. That's why getting in the right assistants is so important.

Sheens was showing signs of struggling with the modern game 10 years ago let alone now.I was very happy with him coming back to the club for "pathways" but am extremely concerned with him in charge of football operations.I hope i am wrong but this is fraught with a major catastrophe looming

How do people know what relationship Sheens has with Maguire? They have known each other for a long time, and the fact that one of the guys doing the review on Maguire is gone since Sheens taking over, may actually indicate that Sheens backs Maguire more than some think.
