Opposition have nothing to worry about with that potential spine.

Hastings could be a gun. If he is we look a lot better.

Think he will be great for us, stoked we signed him.. Him and Ads are real competitor's with voices.

Reynolds had a voice. How’d that work out?

Reynolds was a poor player with poor form and we had a moron signing off on massive contracts. It was a disaster. I don't think they are comparable.

I think it is when we are talking about leaders. Having a voice doesn’t automatically mean he’s going to turn the team around. He has no track record in Australia. The only thing people are clinging to is what he’s done in a third rate competition. It means nothing in Australia.

I have no interest in the leadership idea. Tamou/Mbye sum up to me what leaders add. We need quality players. We need halves that come up with the right plays and create opportunities for us.

Hastings is unproven but I have more confidence in him than Brooks and I have a lot more confidence in Brooks over Reynolds.

The truth is we just have to wait and see how he performs.

How can you have more confidence in someone unproven?

It’s perfectly normal to be confident about recruits. It might turn out to be misplaced, but that’s what happens with any recruit in any business. Why else would you recruit them if you didn’t have confidence in them?
The only thing that IS proven is that Brooks is not a first grade halfback. To have any confidence in him is to go against 8 years of evidence.

Could be, but more than likely won’t be.

Have you actually seen him play? Your very repetitive on your negativity towards him.

I’ve watched alot of his games and as an organising player he offers way more then any half we have. You can see him barking orders to all players around him which is the complete opposite of our silent number 7. I’m actually looking forward to him in our team and I think he will surprise alot of people.

Yes. I think you’ll find Melbourne and the Roosters are a big step up from tearing apart the likes of Huddersfield and Castleford.

It won’t be his job to tear anybody up. It will his job to give us some organisation and a voice on the field. He couldn’t do any worse then what we already have .

Sorry I must have missed the last time Luke Brooks tore the Storm and Roosters apart.

Guess that's the kind of argument you make when you are trying to be contrite rather than talking rugby league and common sense.

It’s the kind of argument you make when everyone gets all warm and fuzzy over a player who stars in a reserve grade standard competition. And even want him to be given the Captaincy. FTR, no one has ever argued Brooks has either.

When your argument against him is that he has never done it against those teams then yes you are actually making the argument that brooks is somehow better than that. You in your defence of Luke are putting a grade on him he has never lived up to.

All well and good to be critical of Hastings but when your counter argument is Luke Brooks you will never gain any traction.

There is just no need for the Hastings Brooks division on here.

We should all be cheering on Hastings. Like any new signing.

I am........I think that the relevance in this thread of Hastings is his role as a replacement for Brooks.

Many keep calling for Brooks to be moved out of the club. My point of view (and I assume others in this thread) is that I am happy to move Brooks on if we are replacing him with better. Some here are offering up Hastings as that "better option". I am of the opinion that he hasnt shown that he is better yet. IMO that is where the "HAstings Brooks" division is coming from.

It's a poor go at Hastings. He should be supported not treated like he has by so called Wests Tigers fans.

I’m happy to see Brooks moved on for someone better. No one is yet to answer what realistic replacement we could get who we know would be better though. Hastings isn’t in the conversation yet as he’s still unproven in the NRL.

I dont agree. He has my and the clubs support. That just doesnt extend to blindly believing he will be the answer to getting rid of Brooks. I hope he smashes it, but until he does, he hasnt.
