Luke Garner

Whether he stays / goes, Garner is just one of the many 'ínterim' filler in players WT have too many of. Certainly not one of the keep at all possible cost ones (not that we have many of those)

interim was suggest they are holding the spot for someone better

Lol what i find funny is that most will agree we need a backrow and centres. And looking at the posts that are entered by some on multiple discussions, which in itself is annoying, but where we are headed will be that we will be adding to that list. I can only see us going backwards. That is if the intel is true and accurate. And if this is the case we will not see finals for a very long time.

I would only keep atm our front row, halves and 2 of the back 3. The rest are free to go including Pascoe. While these exist we wont be seeing finals in a hurry. Just my humble opinion.

I'm all for giving the development players time. BUT they must have the basics to persist with them. Speed- crucial in todays game, Football IQ- you can't coach it. Attitude- you get nowhere without it.
I see very little of these attributes in most of the young backs. Cut our losses and go for better.

What’s the bet he goes and turns into a monster…. I can see it now… players treating the club like a vacation… really frustrates me.

Why exactly would he go on to be a monster?

He is mid 20s and had tons of chances.

Brooks has fed him all season and isolated him one on one with defenders, and he simply can't break the tackle of even small backs. O.4 line breaks a game...says it all.

He would be depth at Manly and called on for 6-8 games a year. I.e. his perfect role.

I really can't see it.

He's a winger really but he's too slow now.
Too small for the pack.

Gets folded by every team.

No loss.

Usually how it goes....
Lol.

Probably not with this one though.

Manly owes us a favour.
Hopefully we get one in return..
And hopefully its not Sirro ?

Just feel he has it in him… and it’s our luck that he would be another player that progressed after leaving…. Honestly, to me he is a nothing player, just think it will bite us… bad mindset I know…

All good. Wish him all the best. Hope he can shine else where. Cause his best days at Tigers are done. Hanging on to this quality will just mean no finals. Its just that obvious.

Edge defence is our achilles heel and that starts with the backrowers. And let's be honest, neither Lucy or Garner are great defenders over the course of 80 minutes - Garner has a much better motor and mobility, but again, arm grabs too often when moving laterally.

The shame of it is, when he digs his shoulder in he's one of the few players in the team who can hurt in defence.

I’ll agree he can use his shoulder sometimes but when he does they are never slow to get up. Really doesn’t have enough driving weight behind him.(I don’t see all games though)
Ideally he is a bench player moving forward. At very worst holds mck spot

Aloiai is the Lawnmower man, so Garner must be the Whipper Snipper man because edges and good lines are his specialty.

I’d pay to see him try to catch spiral bombs. Would probably giggle as they bounce.

Des / Manly did do a lot of work with Suli to get him to be first grade fit.
Garner reportedly struggles to put on bulk weight.
I reckon they might have nutritional program in mind but I’d be picking Shuster and Olukawatu as first choice

Don’t give up on Pascoe just yet. Rumour has it he’s having dinner with the managers of John Hopoate, Todd Carney and Tim Simona. He’s finally turned a leaf and learned what culture is.
