Luke Laulilii #290

Hopefully Makasini and Lualili’i hit the ground running because the others listed aren’t first graders on exposed form.
I think that's a little over-critical..

To'a can play. Faataape hasn't looked out of place for a guy that didn't start the season in the squad. I'm not sold on The Queen Mary (Lobb & his amazing turning circle), but at his age & size, he's worth giving time.

The club is going from To'a, Naden etc being our 'stars'.

If we can make guys like that our 'depth'- we ARE getting better.

We are the worst attacking team in the comp by some distance, our spine is quite strong. The obvious difference between us and the good teams is the quality of the finishing.

While I get your point, I think the obvious difference is in our early set returns from the backs. Too often we are tackle 3-4 and still inside our 30.

Turuva should help with that. Doueihi for a full season should impact that too.

If our forwards hit tackle 3 or so from around our 40 to halfway..we are in better attacking positions on nearly every set.

I completely agree with that.

That’s why I’m advocating for better wingers.

I have Turuva in the centres and AD as depth.

Fair enough- but I think that is misusing Turuva, who is a good metre eater out of dummy half. I'm not sure why he's considered a centre!

Doueihi will play next year. We need a physical presence out wide.

I’m banking on Olam being fully fit and us then having a genuine tackle buster on each edge. I’d probably try and get Sivo or Ravalawa and then maybe Lualilii if he has a good pre-season.

We need players that can run over people. Our small ineffectual outside backs are a big reason we lose the physical battle, as you mentioned.

So Galvin, Laulilii bros, TDS are all mates? How close a friendship? Do they wanna win a premiership together? TDS to get more game time, Laulilii to replace Tupou, Laulilii/Olam left edge and Skelton/Turuva right edge, Galvin to kick on and not suffer 2nd year syndrome, Luai barking orders and Api enjoying things more sharing the captaincy with Romey. I'm just going on a rant it sounded good in my head though

The guy who made up 2nd year syndrome is the guy that first suffered it. Is the syndrome on the player or the spectators expectations?

I like what this person is selling.

"Obviously still learning this position (and) got screws that I need to screw tighter. This club hasn't had much success and I want to be in that winning team," Laulilii told Zero Tackle.

"(I'm looking forward to) learning from Turuva in that wing position, so I'm pretty keen for them...I want to pick their brains as well because they're professional wingers and I'm still learning, so why not learn from the rest of them."

Not by some distance….
In 2024 Knights had a 7 point better attack, Raiders 11 points, Titans 25 and Rabbits 31. Over 24 rounds that’s not that far behind…even the Dragons, Warriors and Dogs weren’t too far ahead.
Our attack for 25 is considerably stronger. I doubt we’ll be the comps lowest unlike the past 3 years.

Is Luke laulili a Smokey to start on one wing in round 1? He hasn’t featured in trials and isn’t in the KOE trial for tonight either.
