Luke Lewis leaving Sharks....

I know we have had many discussions recently about backrowers and centres, however I think if we could afford to give Lewis a season with us he would be fantastic for the young guys in the pack, especially Sirro,he would benefit greatly from him and although Luke is getting on, his experience would be invaluable…

Apparently he is leaving the Sharks and also rumour has it SKD is going to sign with them....

Knuckles,I would love to see him with us mainly as the backup and help he could provide for the young guns,he is an awesome player and our boys would definitely benefit from him being there..

It's the affordabillity that worries me,have we the money….

I think Luke Lewis almost signed with us once before …....... would welcome him with open arms.

Yes, it came down to us and the Sharks, our advantage we were at the end of the M4 if he wished to remain residing in Penrith…for some reason he chose to move a big house on the water in Cronulla area

I wouldnt be against the idea....a great hard runner - good lines, strong defence...someone will find a reason against this I guess

Injury prone will be the only reason against this.

Worth the risk in my opinion as he not only is a top line back rower, but he will give 100% week in week out, and that's all we ask

Injuries are an occupational hazard for an NRL player….yes he's had more than his share I concede but iirc his last injury was a freak occurence in the RLWC where he slid into an advertising hoarding scoring or saving a try?

He's good mates with Robbie and Keefy.
Could happen.

I think we could do better but if he could help us to a GF obvs I'd be all for it

At 31 years of age Luke Lewis is only 5 months older than Robbie Farah. The fact that he would add great value to our forward pack is a no-brainer. The crunch question is how much money is he asking , is it closer to $! million or is closer to $300,000.? If it is closer to the latter then surely Taylor and management can see the great opportunity available to make our team truly competitive. If they ditter and come up with the excuse that they have no money left in our salary cap then they are lying and incompetent.

He was still part of the 2014 State of Origin Squad , so there is still quality in him .
Like Cqtiger says Class player.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Yes please

Where is this rumoured?

Op title thread states it as fact…...Lewis would be great especially if the Sharks are picking up some of his contract would make a nice change

GEO,Lewis is leaving the Sharks and the rumour part of the post was referring to SKD signing with the Sharkies, however I think he has been offered something to stay at the Rorters..not sure but you may find something solid about SKD and if we still are thinking of getting him at WTs..
