Anyway, better us pay him than Parra or Dogs.

I think if he does leave Penrith, we have a better shot than either of those two. Eels are going no where, they are in shambles. You would think he would want to stay as far away from them as possible. And unless the Dogs are letting a few go next year, they won't have room for him (especially after signing T-Rex).

Maybe but with Hindmarsh going Lewis would be a good replacement. You'd have to think Parra would be able to offer a big contract.

Just confirmed by rothfield on twitter. Lewis has quit pamfers, will see out the season. Likely to sign with sharks or dragons

Gould has lost his marbles, one of the best all round back rowers in the world, PERFECT replacement for ellis. Heighno, lote would spare enough cash plus humble and reddy. Farah plus benji plus lewis,

I'm dreamin!

I think Gould is one of the more shrewd operators.

Good player and LL would be magic at the tigers, but at $425 K.. I'm not sure he is worth that amount. I dont want the tigers to pay overs…

That's Benji or Robbie money and I'm not sure he is on that level.

He's worth more then Blair mate… He is in the top handful of forwards in the game and has played every position in a football side

Current nsw and Australia incumbent

Dont get me wrong, there is no other i would like in the Tigers colours.

But if he if the management are not prudent then we will find ourselves in the same payment distribution problem that some of our rivals are in at present. Upgrades for Benji, Robbie, Woods, etc…

PS - Blair is on too Much at the mo, especially in line with performance (Im sure he will improve).

Do what it takes to get him.

Get rid of Heighno, Bell and as controversial as it sounds, if we have to, even Fulton.

We are talking about one of the best back rowers in the game. He is one of the ONLY replacements in the whole NRL for Ellis who I would consider a pretty even swap

Ken oath.

If we sign him, we're going to have to burn the offices out at Concord…

No way we would be under the cap unless there's third party money that isn't tied into the club.

**Lewis granted a release as Sharks circle the Blues star**
Phil Rothfield and Dean Ritchie
The Daily Telegraph

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/former-penrith-panthers-captain-luke-lewis-wants-a-release-from-the-club/story-e6frexqi-1226420608097

**PENRITH has granted a release to club legend Luke Lewis after weeks of speculation about his future.**

The decision will be revealed at a press conference this afternoon where both Lewis and Panthers general manager Phil Gould will be in attendance.

"It's unfortunate but it's like a bad marriage - there's no point hanging on to someone when he doesn't want to be here," a Penrith official told thetelegraph.com.au.

There is speculation that Lewis spent the weekend in the company of Paul Gallen his former Penrith teammate Wade Graham in Cronulla.

The Sharks are the front runners to sign him for next season but there is strong interest from St George Illawarra as well.

It is too late for Lewis to switch clubs mid-season as the June 30 deadline for transfers has now passed

He will play out the remainder of the season with the Panthers.

feel sorry for the bloke has given his heart and soul to that club and now they are just discarding him, hope he comes to the tigers but would only sign him for 2 maybe 3 years as he is 28 now, but good luck to the bloke where ever he ends up

Dont feel to sorry for him, hes on a good wicket and he wont loose too much $$$ with this next contract at the prime of his career.

I just hope he delivers for his next club, especially (though unlikely) if its our tigers

My friend who is a Panthers supporter mentioned that Ray Hadley said as part of his release he could not go to a western sydney team. That rules out Us, the Dogs & Parramatta.

That's why the Sharks and the Dragons are the teams which are mentioned in the latest article.

I thought i just heard on the radio he was coming to the Tigers….wish ful thinking perhaps, did anyone else just hear this.

No one knows where he's going except Lewis, his family, panthers management and the management of the team he's going to. No point throwing half the teams names around. Wait 45 minutes and we will know for sure

Where Goose?

It was the news on the station i was listening to whilst on hold, but i was only half listening, as I said, good chance i was only hearing what I wanted to….

PLEASE don't go to the Sharks or the Dragons they are my least favourite clubs. I'd rather him stay at Penrith, but if he's going to move at least go to a club with a better image. Even the Eels would be better. They suck but at least they have a better image than Sharks and Dragons.
