I should have qualified my comment as I realized I just came across like I know for sure which I do not -
Purely my take, based on all I've read
I think it's also reverse psychology as I really would love Luke at our club so I will be dissapointed but preparing for the fact. I think he will be a shark .
Begs the question though – did we free up money just for Luke Lewis ?? Thus, if we miss out does that mean we could conceivably make a play for another big name or were these funds apparently made just because of Luke's standing as a top tier player.? Ie maybe cutting some players to make way for Luke. It seems we could suddenly have around 400-500k to spend...
Is there anyone else out there available to chase should we lose out on Luke ? Or do we wait till the next year ?

Even now, I'm guilty of it by my own thoughts .. I think we all collectively agree that Luke will be a great addition to our team and thus, we are all desperate for good news..
All will be revealed within 48 hours I think and until then .... May the rumors and stories continue

Luke is also interested in what the club can offer him for life after footy. I read he was interested in strength and conditioning. Apparently we've offered something similar to what we did for Skando. Sending him to the US and so on. Hopefully this sways his decision.
I think the thing that will go in our favour is our location. He is building a new home in Penrith which means a trip to Cronulla each day to train and play would be impossible. Concord is not a bad drive down the M2 from Penrith.
Cronulla also needs backs and they seem to have enough quality forwards. Colin Best seems set to retire.
Big fan of Luke Lewis so hoping he signs.
Props next year will be Galloway, Woods, BMM, Bell, Pettybourne and Groat.

The way I see it - I think body language between lewis and the guys after the match against penrith really showed something to be excited about..
They weren't just quick handshakes and thanks for the game - to me it seemed like "great game mate, see you soon" type convos..there was obvious ass kissing going on but I think he looked extremely comfortable and relaxed around them..Robbie also looked like he directed him over to the sidelines to have a quick chat to someone also..possibly Skando ?
I also think that his future after his playing career is going to be a huge draw card..we all know how solid the WT are in training scholarships and avenues to Persue after player careers are complete..I can see this factor alone as being the cream on the cake for us….I'm wayyy more confident now than I was last week.

Need to remember that he is still good mates with alot of the guys at penrith so would he really move to the shire because wade Graham is there? While 15 of his other mates are still in penrith?
