No wonder we can't move forward.
What we learn from history is that people don't learn from it. We're going backwards but not in a good way.
We tried to "learn from the past" by bringing back Robbie and Benji, where did it get us?
They were great players and always will be. The issue is the dud coaches we've had. Note I do not include Sheens or Cleary in this category.
Cleary destroyed our roster.
Beats me how anyone can defend the guy or call him good. He may have had the boys playing ok but he was not good for us in the final tally.
Goes on the list with the dud coaches.
Cleary was literally a suicide bomber...infiltrated and boom
Sheens and Cleary are the two best coaches we have had at WTs by a long way. Cleary gets results and this is a results driven business. I didn't agree with what he did but understood it involved his son.
It would be interesting to know which coach our current players would prefer to play for if they had the choice? It worked out well for Momirovski.
Our players are inheritantly soft. They'd love to play under a soft coach like Ivan who'd give them a pat on the bum instead of a bollocking. IMO our current roster would perform better under the perceived 'softer' coaches in the game. They just don't seem willing to respond to a hard taskmaster like Madge, I honestly don't think it will end well for him which is a shame.
Player power always wins in this day and age in all sports.
I agree with you. While tough love has its place, Sheens and Cleary are proof there are different ways of going about achieving results. That article about Reynolds and the reference to being forced to play injured has set back WTs.
Did Robbie Farah being allowed to play with a broken leg help or hinder Wests Tigers? @Pawsandclaws
That's the first I learnt of that one. I'm getting older but that doesn't sound great. It would be hard to keep him from playing!
Yeh sorry Paws. It was in the last game of 2019 at L.O.
against Cronulla...the game we were an outrageous favourite for ...and lost.
