Legend Farah has backed coach Madge saying” he’s the most caring coach I’ve ever been under, he cares about the club and every single player and he’s got the drive and passion to turn things around”
On ya Robbie

Matterson doesn’t think so.

Better than sitting on a scoreboard having a drink.

He's got a drink in his hand ?

I think you missed it but thats ok.

I re-watched a 2019 game and boy did the likes of Elijah Taylor, Ben Matulino, Matt Eisenhuth and Robbie Farah make a difference to our line speed and defence. It also allowed our power players in Josh Aloiai and Thomas Mikaele to play their natural game. I really am going back and forth on whether it is Madge or the players and I think it is just a horrible mix of both. The answer would be to get more senior players in the team but that doesn't seem like it happening any time soon.

Which game mate?

Senior players as you say. It’s not a surprise to me and a big reason why our defence has gone backwards.

Using another example the Broncos. Different coach but same result. As the senior players left the squad the team got more flair in their attack but their defence waned most definitely.

RD1 v Manly 2019. You can also tell Brooks has lost quite a bit of zip since then as well.

Ahh I might give it a gese.
But remember that was round 1. I watched the round 4 game and it was similar. Be interesting to see if it remained the same in the later part of the season.

The middle part of the season was inconsistent as we always have been but towards the end of the season where we were on the hunt for a finals spot was actually nice to watch when we were on. I thought it was actually smart at the time when Farah got injured to utilise Benji as hooker in attack and Matterson as a 6 until J Reynolds came on at hooker. Some on her were picking Madge for coach of the year. I really can't put my finger on what has happened since then. It looked like we were on the up and Madge had us playing a style that was competitive.

Ill have a watch, I hope to agree although it was probably a case of our late season charge once most of the pressure of not being a premiership challenger has worn off and the only challenge that remained was to make the finals.

I’ll get excited the season we start the first for rounds in the top 6 and remain in the 8 for the year. Big milestone though as I don’t think we’ve managed to not drop below 9th in any season other than 2010.

If we look who our potential NRL side was to be on the field regularly this year and the team we are fielding against the Panthers, then we cant possibly have faith in the result being a positive one...

Not playing and are sidelined for varying reasons.....

BJ
JTJ
Tamou
Laurie
AD
Musgrove

There are more but these were going to be our core players...Madge has given a few young guys a debut but really with chopping and changing this year and debuting young guys,we never really expected to be finals bound,we did though expect much better performances from the players that were labeled as leaders and quality youth....

No.... Injuries and unforced changes are part and parcel of a rugby league season
Pretty much everyone had us down to make the semis at the start of the season

And if we had depth like Storm,Panthers,Rabbits and Roosters ....we could have played finals ....but we havent got there yet because we are developing our youth....thats where we need to build and then add more experience...just saying Ink...

I hate to inform you but you are, by definition, biased. All fans are.

Not really, if the clubs doing well I’m complimentary, if it’s a dumpster fire (like it is at present) I’m not.

You don't get it.

There’s someone in this conversation that doesn’t get it, and it’s not me.

No it's definitely you. You don't get what bias is. You cannot possibly have an unbiased opinion about the team you follow; it is by definition not possible, as dispassionate as you may believe your argument is.

I know the definition of bias, but I’m not convinced you do.

BORING

I'm certain you know what that word means.

Yes it's everything you've written the last 3 or 4 attempts.

Frankly, we were going alright until the Titans game last year after which Benji got dropped. Losing Aloiai and Matterson greatly matters too.

I know how you feel mate. I do think it is a mix of both. In fact I would support both a change of coach and seeing half a dozen players walk out the door.

I don't think the club makes terrible decisions. It's just depressing how we are always so bad.

You'd think it's got to turn around at some point but I have no idea when.

Hence a long slow painful rebuild is on the way

Only another 10 years to go.

If at all. They’ll find ways of cocking it up along the way. They always do.

Your optimism is infectious.

I call as I see it, without bias.

We can’t all post riveting content like you.

I like what jirskyre posts,he is informative and most of all pretty clear and cohesive in what he says...he usually has clear and concise input that most people appreciate..there are many who are no where near as informed as he is....

You like his posts because he never criticises anything the club does, just like you.

Now,now avo, dont let loyalty toward a club and sticking by it ..get confused with fans who constantly criticise everything the club does that doesnt suit them....just like you...

So you’re saying because you blindly support every terrible decision the club makes you’re more of a fan than I am?

Didnt say that at all...Im loyal to the club, its coach, players and admin while they try and make this club a success that it should be...I dont always agree with their decisions, but I know they are doing whats best with what they have...
Difference between you and I for example is I try and be patient and see what happens in the not to distant future before hanging them out to dry...because you dont like Madge or his ways because the results arent that good atm while he is trying to fix the rotten culture or to develop young talent and you want results yesterday is a result of frustration and not the true indicator of where we are at as a club atm...

See that’s where you and I differ. I support the club, and am very loyal to WT. I have no loyalty to the board, players coach or administration. They’re just employees of the club I support.

I'm not sure why I couldn't reply to true tiger, I am a bit of a novice at this, but I agree with his comment about Jirskyr. The comments from jirskyr, in my opinion, are well thought out, well reasoned, and intelligent. I always enjoy reading jirskyr's opinion, and I read a hellava lot on this forum.

Just watching Newcastle v Titans. All the time the camera shows the Newcastle coaching box , O’brien and seibold are in constant conversation. Basically 2 NRL quality coaches (I say that loosely) I think Madge needs an former NRL quality coach in the team/box with him, thoughts?
