Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

@pawsandclaws1 @Earl
Starting to actually see what others have been trying to suggest about consistency usually coming from player/team confidence in the game plan. This year has honestly seen the poorest performances I've personally witnessed from this team.
Thought there was nothing(to do with coaching) in the fact we now have a record of points conceded but we now absolutely suck in every which way possible.

this is not the same madge who was here last year
the one the media turned against cause he was putting pressure on the team and dumping players for not playing well
he even dumped brooks 😱

Yep , his message is being lost . I think he’s a good coach , but whatever he’s saying is being lost on deaf ears .
It’s now whether the club want to sacrifice this year for development , as we have a lot of great juniors , or , he gets punted ala Kearney last year , and we try and find a new voice in the locker room .

He was a good coach. His style doesn’t suit the game anymore. We can’t persist with him any longer.

I think you’re right mate . He’s recruited so well , as well , so he can identify talent , he just can’t get the most of them anymore.
John Morris can coach . He turned a madge ball team into an attacking juggernaut . That’s no easy feat , IMO .

I still don't think we can sack him but he is recruiting pretty well but the team just aren't being consistent.

You're wrong they are consistent at losing ?‍♂️

That is the wrong type of consistency that we need.

Our roster is bad but I can see Madge starting to lose his mind. I think he needs help and would bring in the Sheenius as a coaching director. We need players and time with pathways providing talent.

We are a bottom 4 roster but the lack of effort is troubling. We just fold like a deck chair.
I can handle losing but we must fight.

Sack another coach how dumb would that be

So your happy to put up with this every week

club is gonna be bad even with a new coach
we have no game breakers
no stars
we have money yet we went out and bought hastings over reynolds

I don’t know how to think no more, couldn’t watch the full game because it was the same ol same ol.
Change IS NEEDED, we have a lot of up and coming talent, will they get snapped up by other teams? Probably.
Guess it is time Madge moves on, it just ain’t working.
We need a coach players want to play for, and a coach who sees it as an accomplishment to turn this club around.
that’s the most important thing.
Who to bring in as a replacement?
Ppl throwing around names like Green, Morris.
Not sure what will work Tbh.
Maybe what we need is Bennet?
I just don’t know.
I do know that it is tough supporting the tigers.

I was just thinking if Madge were sacked, who would step in as interim coach?

Majority of the good sides have or have had assistant coaches with the potential to kick on as first grade coaches. Looking at our coaching staff I don't think there's anyone who has the potential to step up.
**> Madge hasn't surrounded himself with good staff and that's showing with how weak our defence is and how poor we look in attack.**

It's hard to make a case for Madge to keep his job. He has taken this team backwards.

That quote of yours is exactly right. Seibold ran the offense at Souths. Yet with us, Madge is trying to do it all and has appointed people who are zero threat of replacing him.

The thing is no one wants to win more than the coach his job depends on it. Players rock up every week and get paid regardless of performance and if they are unhappy there is always another club willing to take them off your hands. We keep sacking coaches we keep attracting the loser players and the good ones will move on anyway.

i think we were always gonna be bad this year
we should of focus on devlopment of our younger players and tried to buy some actual game breakers instead we went our bought some avg players and put ourselfs in a worse spot
i always thought 2022 was the year we become a consistant top 8 team but it looks like half our young forwards got worse

No the coach is the loser simple.. after three seasons with a large part of the playing group brought here by the coach ..no the coach is the loser !

Bravo at last some common sense ..this team has no attacking or defensive structure at all after three season if coaching by Macguire .
