I would hope those in control would be far more measured in decision making around this than reacting to emotional fans who have all the solutions- but in truth don't.
It came from the board embarrassed about results.
And has gained traction by a percentage of a vocal fan base understandably sick of losing.
And that traction is justified. I accept losses but wanted improvement in defence, attack, player's skills, discipline and composure. In short, confirmation we are on an upward trajectory. That has not happened. You worry about the cost to the business of acting. I worry about the cost to the business of not acting.
While none of us really know if Maguire is the right coach for this group of players i do believe he is building something from the ground up.
Its pretty clear to see the recruitment of good young players who will come into the system in a year or two has happened is is still happening as we speak.
The things you are looking for will come with the next generation of players.
Im on the fence with all this but would be a little scared to sack a coach who has built it internally before he gets a chance to coach the kids he has recruited.
He inherited the senior playing group. Yes its his job to improve them but i imagine most clubs would not be too keen on many of our senior players.
We need to accept this and let it become part of our view of the club, coach and roster.
