They have few testicles between them, it is a statement of fact.

It is counterproductive to team building, cohesion and performance. And importantly, how do you believe other players outside the club will view WTs as a destination? Are we that naive to think word does not get around?

So we should be announcing in a press conference that players like Mbye actually had a great game, in the hopes that Brandon Smith might then decide he wants to come here?

Good players do not want to play with our squad.

To be fair why would any good player want to come and be lectured by a lunatic every week. You could see Everyone’s eyes glazing over.

Do you think Bellamy is not an angry ranting lunatic?

Nope. If you look at the shots in the dressing room he’s seated and talking normally 99% of the time. He blows up a couple of times a year when he needs to.

Bellamy has never had to deal with a squad like this. There is absolutely no evidence to support how he would or wouldn't react.

Madge can plainly see what he’s doing isn’t working. Why can’t he adapt?

That’s what that shoddy defensive structure was , an adaptation , that didn’t work .

For me , the issues in the team lie with 3 players . Mbye, Tamou , and Luciano. Luciano needs to be taken off the edge for his own sake . There’s no reason why we can’t play him at 13 , and have him run wider at times .

With this move , Mbye can find some confidence , or not . His voice appears lost i. The wilderness , and his defence is all at sea .
Tamou , just had fallen off a cliff . Seems like a great bloke , but the hit and drop to your knees style , just isn’t working in this current touch football game .
The guys having the most affect are guys who are running through the line and looking for offloads.
The rule changes have killed Tamou like players . Even Twal . Because he can’t pass , it basically means the defence can jam and compress when he runs it , basically killing any momentum.

Twal you can fix , as he’s still early 20s , Tamou , I dunno , it might be too late .

I know Tamou might bring something off the field but on field he's adding nothing. 27 minutes on the field yesterday, 3 runs for 15 metres. Game before vs Melbourne, 34 minutes, 3 runs for 26 metres.

Twal got manhandled yesterday.

I'm not excusing yesterday ...but we had the ball for 8 tackles in the 1st 21 minutes v Melbourne

I will just drop this.
James Roberts in a recent interview says "he loves the Tigers and he loves the club".

It's a phrase I am hearing again and again when players mention the Tigers.
Whatever Madge is doing, he is doing this one thing right. The players he is keeping onside.
Even Mbye who was on the outer, is being managed well.

Maybe Madge isn't managing the bench rotation well. Maybe there are tweeks here and there. But if everyone is saying "we like playing at the Tigers", and we are training hard. Then we are building well.

We see how Parra has been torn apart by infighting. We want players to stay with the Tigers and build their careers here. We want people saying were a good club because that will attract talent.

How many years has it taken Brad Arthur at Parra, ? Building takes time. Madge is getting the culture right.

Well many on here just can’t see it.
So slashing and burning is the only answer.
Well I agree with you mate and am sticking …. It may not be working but believe me we will get there.
If we change our course now and get a new coach AND he fails to get immediate positive results ….. we are well and truly stuffed. The media will have a field day and we’ll be in worst place than we are now.
This season is done and dusted …. If this time next season we don’t improve THEN and only THEN we have given the coach and his roster sufficient time ….

Sounds about right. We will have given him a fair shot by then and we will still be in the same spot. By that time we will have finalised our contract offer to Freddy Fittler and hopefully he'll put his money where his mouth is.

Interesting thought @rihannafan1 re Freddy Fittler.

I'm actually deadset serious ay. I think Maguire will do the hardest work and not get to enjoy the fruits of it but he'll leave us in a decent spot. I know, I know, sack Maguire to replace him with Freddy? Only on WTF
But Fittler *would* attract players to the club, no doubt. He'd be finished four Origin series and may want to get back into the league proper. He'd be a big, somewhat respected name after Origin. He bags us, sometimes rightly so, but I actually think he gives a crap about the competition's health and would like us to perform better. What better way to help?

So he’d take the role for the sake of the health of the NRL? Doubtful

It's more than doubtful. But more likely than Sheens ever coaching us and at least I'm not saying Ciraldo! Morris! Flanagan!

Ppl harp on about how cheap he is but in the end it's a waste. Better to give the extra coin to attract someone here than have 2 plodders on the same.

He was a poor signing imo. And he'll be even worse next season.

Agree. Absolute waste

Yet at the beginning of the season Hartigan and co were applauded for his signing ....He played in GFs ,he captained a team of great players ,he is such a good person, his experience will help the younger ones...etc etc...
Maybe he is finding it difficult to adapt to our system, the poor one that Madge is trying to overhaul and change the poor culture that has been festering here for years...
Yes he may have been a poor signing in some peoples opinion, however unless your at training and spending a lot of time with the team, then you really dont know what input he has other than what he is doing on the field that you are viewing on tv or at the ground...

TT I reckon you get a fair read what he is telling them from teh way we play

Because if they haven't listened through our 11 ugly losses ..many should be good mates with the KOE players

This Goose in his presser said he requires men for his team. Fair call, what they are delivering atm is far from acceptable. But ! When asked whether he is happy with wests tigers as a whole he craps on about how hard he is working with ‘his men’… seriously I had a lot of time for him. But it’s soon going to end especially if we lose to broncos and bulldogs. D-Day is nigh Madge

Did anyone see Bennett's presser regarding blame shouldn't always go on players but that it is hard for players to play in a toxic environment.

Have to agree with him. Obviously, players aren't blameless but I'm sure we have all worked in places with toxicity. Unfortunately though, most of us don't work under as high a pressure and don't need to put in 150% physically to get the job done.

Players are half arsing. We can all see it. They're looking at the end date of their contracts like they look at the half time whistle at the 20 minute mark. They can't wait to get out of here.

There's something rotten in the state of Denmark. I get the feeling that certain players don't want to play for each other. You look at Nofo responding to the criticism about his defence. Now one part of me says that he was tagged by old mate having a shot at him, so that makes it personal and I understand why he responded, however, I am less than impressed with the way he responded by throwing teammates under the bus publicly. He didn't name them by name, but you only need reference the try to know who is having a dig at.

Compare this to Tom Opacic who lost his brother the day they played against Penrith. Reeling from the loss of his brother, he chose to not let his teammates down and took the field. THAT is someone you want beside you in the trenches.

For better or for worse, this club was renowned for being a players club where they all seemingly got along and were good mates and the like, but it doesn't even appear that rings true anymore.

Not so true he has recruited players that seem to be fairly average at other clubs who then improve under him and there systems. Maguire has brought in players to supposedly suit he’s coaching style and yet no improvement in individual performance or team performance. I whould like to see us improving to give some hope I’m just not seeing it

**‘I need to find men’: Michael Maguire flags roster overhaul as Tigers lashed over ‘garbage’ loss**

A frustrated Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has lashed his team’s “garbage” performance as they sunk to a new low at their spiritual home.

The Tigers treated defence like it was optional as the Rabbitohs piled on seven tries in a 38-22 training run.

It came off the back of Maguire’s men conceding an embarrassing 66 points in their previous outing against the Storm.

It was a good thing there were no fans at the ground because the players would have been booed off at Leichhardt Oval for the second time this season.

A month to the day after they stunned the Panthers, Michael Maguire’s side folded as the Origin-in-waiting halves of Cody Walker and Adam Reynolds picked them apart with consummate ease.

Speaking after the match Maguire said they needed to fix their diabolic starts to games.

“For three weeks, our starts have been ordinary. We have to be accountable for that,” he said.

“It’s sad to say that our start looked like a training run for Souths. It’s very disappointing to see us start like that.

“I need to find men who are going to be accountable for what we’re doing. That’s not acceptable for where we’re going with the club.

“Our first half was garbage.”

Maguire, who said there was no repeat of the silent treatment he gave his side at halftime during the Storm hammering, said he would use the rest of the season to work out which players had a future at the Tigers.

“I’ll be definitely having a look at the team,” Maguire said.

“They’ve got a week now where they can go away from footy for a while.

“I want to find the ones that are ready to take Wests Tigers forward.”

“We’re very focused on where we want to get to. Seeing a performance like that is disappointing because the effort around the organisation is a strong club.

Maguire has challenged his players' manhood publicly (or even privately)and that is the end for him. Football aside, that is unacceptable and he should be asked to attend the CEO's office this morning. No wonder we're viewed in less than positive light.

??

The players need to man up.
I think it's fair what Madge said.

Said he wants players that are hungry and want to lead the tigers to success.

Heads should roll after last night's game.

I'd be taking aim at Nofo, Mbye, anyone else.
All needing to be dropped.

He's trying to build a team and makes this comment in the press?

Absolutely unacceptable and counterproductive to what the WTs' Club is attempting to achieve.

I disagree.

We want a team of men not boys.

Hungry players who want to take tigers to success....
He made his point and made it well..

They're lucky that's all he said.

Much better than defending the Muppets

Yes he has lost some players but they are the ones that have to go

The young guys seem to love him and some have already re signed with him in charge so that's saying something

And besides Brooks it was our young blokes who actually had a go yesterday

I agree completely, it is the younger blokes who are having a dig.

The man comment is pretty funny especially when it's Tamou and Twal especially who are getting smashed. He needs to go for impact straight up and rotate middle forwards who roll forward and smash in defense.

I am not a fan of sacking Madge but he must realize we are getting bullied when we have the ball and getting smashed when we don't have the ball. Offloads, tackle busts, quick shifts of the ball to AD and JTJ. A defensive line that moves up and hits the opposition.

That’s because he whould not have recruited or re-signed the the players Maguire has

He has never been in a position to have to sign the type of players this club attracts.

Not so true he has recruited players that seem to be fairly average at other clubs who then improve under him and there systems. Maguire has brought in players to supposedly suit he’s coaching style and yet no improvement in individual performance or team performance. I whould like to see us improving to give some hope I’m just not seeing it

His recruitment has been within the constraints of an extremely buggered salary cap, with the Cleary era leaving a series of massively overpaid useless players on long term contracts, that is finally getting sorted out.

He was in a position to offer Latrell Mitchell over $1m a year. I don't think he's been any more hamstrung than other coaches, particularly this year.

The forwards would have been absolutely stuffed from defending v Melbourne

Not like you to stick up for the team bro.
The place is a shambles Hap.
Massive changes needed and that's not an overreaction

Hap copped a head knock from his mrs

Yeah bro I see your point but at the end of the day, he's still plodding on. Whether he was signed to lead or not, good leaders lead by example. He is not

But it’s soon going to end especially if we lose to broncos and bulldogs. D-Day is nigh Madge

I'm sick of hearing. "They know what they need to do". The team has no idea and I don't think some of them ever will.

No ...not sticking up for the side at all ...from memory it was like 80 odd tackles to 8 after 20 minutes .....our side is crap in a 50/50 situation ......the forwards would have been screaming for a breather ...any side in the NRL's forwards would have been screaming to get even a minutes break

That's where you sign guys that can take the heat off their forwards e.g. lockyer, cronk.
Or someone that can turn the game around, kick it into touch, give the pigs a rest. Even waste a challenge to get a break. We are seriously lacking in football smarts. Glad we signed such a great on field leader?

Agree Earl, however,I think the individual players at times cause us to fall behind the 8 ball early in the games through ill disipline,Garner yesterday gave a penalty away by leg pulling, this gave Souths the advantage straight away without earning it,Luc made a break and passed to no one, ball back to Souths...there are many things that can be pointed straight at the players,if they havent learnt the way the game needs to be played they best learn quick or move on..Madge has his faults, but attitude and disipline falls squarely on the players,,,they get paid to play NRL,they were selected for their talent and skills,if they cant move up quick in defense or position themselves to tackle their opposing player and mark up then maybe they need to go to a lower grade to brush up on what the game requires...

Maguire has challenged his players’ manhood publicly (or even privately)and that is the end for him. Football aside, that is unacceptable

The forwards would have been absolutely stuffed from defending v Melbourne

Not like you to stick up for the team bro.
The place is a shambles Hap.
Massive changes needed and that's not an overreaction

Well that's the issue ......something that surprises me a little ....with our reasonably good outcomes from short kick offs ...why don't we try and mix it up .....at least it helps get the defence on the front foot ...by the time a big palooka grabs it and drags 7 WT's defenders for 15 post contact metres from a kick off ..we arent'y losing that much yardage ....throw in then they have to use tackles to centre their attack ....
