There's no way sheens and Maguire can work together I'm thinking sheens no 1 job is to sack madge once the season is over.

I would hope so, maybe then we can get some half decent players to come onboard

So, the old 5 games to save his job article.

Yeah, why does he get 5 games, doesn't excuse the last 19 games or the whole of last season, what will change in 5 games, he has had his chance, time to go.

At least when we had Sheens we had an identity. We were the team that would attack attack attack. It didn't always work, but we were fun to watch. That would work wonders in this current comp. Under Madge we have just looked... sad. No other way to put it. Cleary had us tough and hardened. What has Madge done?

Nothing. Watch fox or anyone speak about us over the last year and the first word is always identity. We don’t have one. We’re not a flarey attacking team, we’re not a gritty defensive team. We’re not even a team really.

Clearly he’s feeling the pressure by trying to defend himself with “look at all the young blokes I’ve given debuts too”. Falls on deaf ears when all of them bar Laurie have been in and out of the team all season. If I’m a youngster, I’m not going to the tigers because my development will continuously struggle because I can be in and out of the team after one game.

Jnr devlpmnt dont work like that
Someone mentioned hes given most of the rookies two games, not sure if
thats accurate or not...but if it is it sounds like a pre concieved plan
to blood a lot of promising junior

Weve also had Stef ...not just Laurie

And just because you debut doesnt automatically guarantee you a starting spot, hard work
and another off season is at play here as well as cap management

Anything worthwile is never easy, but i think a lot of players have your attitude these
days, that its easier and better elsewhere

I also like giving a young guy a taste of first grade and sending them back down to work on the things that they need improve with that knowledge and experience they gained from that time in the top grade.

That’s fine as long as they know what to work on. I can’t see any development at all in anyone. For example, You would think our hookers would be developing kicking games by now and being given the confidence to do these things also. It’s always left to Brooks because no one else does it. When you watch the storm you have backrowers , centres ,wingers hookers ,all of them doing it because it’s everyones job to do what ever is required. It’s always someone else’s job in our team, it’s a joke.

You nailed it, all the top sides have multiple play makers. Storm has Smith, Cronk, Billy and Munster, Panthers had Cleary, LUI, Teo, etc., Souths have Reynolds Walker, Mitchell etc, etc, Easts had Teddy, Morris bros, Manu , keary etc. Parra, -Moses Gutheron , Brown ets Manly, have Tommy T, Jack T. Dce etc.
We have Brooks and not much else, and he is a one man band.

For the rest of the year we just have tiwork for next season in giving the young guys a real go like brooks and the Do in the halves for the and Talau in the centres BLORE in the second row and Madden and Simpkins sharing the bench for game time for the 14 give Cini a crack mixed with the crap Mbye. Simples!!!

Your right mate. Remember when we had a reserve backrower grubber through for our reserve prop to ice a Grand Final. Wasn't that nice. We had a real coach then though.

Exactly. They always harp on about Madge being a great defensive coach. Has our defence ever looked worse? I seriously struggle to remember if it has. And I'd forgive him if our attack was scintillating... but it isn't. I actually think it's worse than ever also. I know we have a history of sacking coaches but that shouldn't mean we have to stick with mediocrity just because. And YES, I know he won a comp with Souths almost a decade ago ??

Also, he can't attract players. Our juniors have never looked worse, Talau, Pauga, Cini, Marsters, Madden? Where are the exciting players? Are any of these players particularly fast, or strong, or skillful? I have yet to see it.

So what is Madge doing exactly, and why must we give him another year? What is going to change?

douie is a hero. like jarad haynes wanting a to be a plane so much he hog the ball instead of passing to morris costing the origin. douie appears to be not a team player. hes got talent but he wants to do low percentage play to get the glory.

Typical response from a fan used to nuffy players.

Ridiculous post.

He’s more passionate about the club than just about anyone in the squad.

Was poor the other night but you can tell he loves the club and will only improve with age. We need more players like him that care.

He needs to take better options. There were a few times last week where is he goes through hands we score. Instead he went himself or tried the flashy cut out pass

Can't fathom how he didn't shine in a depleted Warriors side, forwards did a job for him. Plus all the silly mistakes he did, drop-out and the 2 point field goal was really unacceptable. He shouldn't be in the team this week he was that bad.

Agree, he was poor last week as I said, just saying his passion for the club is admirable and he’s got a lot of improvement to come. Only 22.

Agree that he was poor, completely disagree that he shouldn’t be in the team this week.

One of our only truly dynamic attacking weapons close to the line.

Our best player in my opinion.

Desperate Two point field goal attempts and a missing dummy half had me wavering, but I think I'd still rather sink with Madge than contemplate sacking another coach. He still seems genuine in being up for the challenge.

Does Liddle not get to dummy half more often than the average 9? I swear in a few games I've seen there are almost entire sets where he's not at play the ball.

Give Madge another full year. If we show no signs of improvement by the end of next season, sack him.

Not sure whether anyone has the appetite for another year of this.....no new players of any significance =nothing will change.
Sheens is no Bellamy as we discovered ourselves eventually

I think plenty support Madge

The numbers are decreasing with each game I’d imagine.

If we get beaten by the Bulldogs this weekend, only rusted on Madge supporters could still hold out hope that he is the man to take this club forward in 2022.

Gets there a split second late too often, it’s been really noticeable the last 3 games

Those backing him are blaming our shoddy roster that is full of blokes we don’t want anymore. Now on top of that we’re getting injuries, so it’s still the crap roster.
