Madge Maguire - Mega Thread

The Bulldogs are looking a lil stronger everyweek , would not surprise me if Dogs rolled us , but hopefully the boys have a real dig , not for a slim chance of 8 but for bloody pride

Desperate Two point field goal attempts and a missing dummy half had me wavering, but I think I'd still rather sink with Madge than contemplate sacking another coach. He still seems genuine in being up for the challenge.

It doesn't matter how genuine you are, how passionate you are, how invested you are if you're just not up to the job.

Does Liddle not get to dummy half more often than the average 9? I swear in a few games I've seen there are almost entire sets where he's not at play the ball.

I think (hope) we see Lids have a career year nxt yr. Had an awful few years with injuries and this has been the first time I've seen him play a complete season. Still looks underdone.
I've always rated him so we can only hope he lives up to his potential. We have a pretty good understudy anyway

Yeah I think he's fit but not 100% match fit if you get me.
Think we'll see the best of him nxt year. Hope?

Give Madge another full year. If we show no signs of improvement by the end of next season, sack him.

Not sure whether anyone has the appetite for another year of this.....no new players of any significance =nothing will change.
Sheens is no Bellamy as we discovered ourselves eventually

I think plenty support Madge

The numbers are decreasing with each game I’d imagine.

If we get beaten by the Bulldogs this weekend, only rusted on Madge supporters could still hold out hope that he is the man to take this club forward in 2022.

Madge won't get any more support if they win either. Burn the witch mentality.

Yeah maybe a bit more. Don't want him to lose speed though. He might just need a bit more confidence to run more. Always his strength his running game.
I haven't been watching many Tigers games live this year due to work and no confidence in results so I'd say ur a better judge of him than me.

Cant disagree with your argument. The poor results are making it ever harder to believe that his successes at previous clubs are going to be replicated here.

Through his injuries his lost his ability to really dominate a tackle. Used to be very good at that when younger and even in the first couple of ISP games, first year of NRL.
First full year just about of playing 80. Harry couldn’t do it to start with last year so I wouldn’t of expected Liddle to get there quicker this year with injuries plus the increase to game speed.

It's fun reading the Parra Facebook page.
Their coach is copping a similar backlash.
Maybe we could do a straight swap?

The Drag's fans are screaming for Griffin's head as well? It's that time of the year?

There's no way sheens and Maguire can work together I'm thinking sheens no 1 job is to sack madge once the season is over.

Imagine how it feels ...
You're doing that bad of a job they have to bring a supervisor in to oversee things, do a review and help you.

You could be right bra...
Keen to see how it plays out.

Im thinking Pascoe and co know the decision can't come from them.

It would be difficult especially when they resigned him not even 12 months ago & he was not exactly a hot commodity.

It is interesting how Clubs go about trying in to turn things around to get results

The Coach is the easy fix tbh.. not sure it works that often..

Arthur you could say has had success at Parra but can't seem to get them to the next level

How long will Kevvy last should the Donkey's have another failed season..

Barrett has been given a major roster upgrade for next year.. expectations are high..be interesting to see what transpires should they not drastically improve..

Griffen and Ricky seem stagnate

Holbrook , O'Brian, Payten all relatively 'young coaches' also can't get any sought of consistency with their squads..

I'm not sure any of them could come in and turn around a Club like ours..

If Maguire goes that's fine.. don't think it will be that simple though..

To me that warriors game showed how bad our "marquee" players are. Perfect time for them to stand up and prove their worth when Laurie went off and they failed. Watch the replay of nofo on that Brooks drop out. Hopeless. Brooks himself failed badly in that game both as captain and proving he is worthwhile as a player to another club. If I was a recruiter from another club that game would take 100k off the package for lack of ability under pressure. Madge is trying but he is getting badly let down by his senior(read highest paid) players. Still think they should have given up on the top 8 tilt a few weeks ago and set up for next year dropping anyone that is not in the plan. Seems to me Madge has a top 8 clause in his contract and the players know it so if the club sacks the coach the players can say to their next suitor look it was coach not me.
