Payten is one of the last guys I want as coach.

Can you elaborate?

Someone that whiteants the current coach, no matter how poorly he is performing doesn't show the loyalty that I want in a coach at our club.

We have gone backwards since Madge arrived. He is a coach that preaches defence, yet our defence is embarrassing. Of course a lot comes down to the cattle at your disposal, but there has been zero signs of improvement in 95% of the roster. One could argue they have gone backwards.

It would appear we can not attract the upper range of players to our club. Iam sure it’s for a number of reasons and I think Madge might be a small part of the problem. His win loss ratio since winning the GF with Souths is terrible, somewhere around 30%.

**Although people like Gould and others in the media have gone into bat for Madge and said you need a old head for a coach to do a rebuild, Iam not so sure.** Personally I would be going after someone like **Cameron Cirado**….excuse the spelling. A youngish coach from a very good system. Someone a little more in tune with the 18 to 30 age group and someone who probably has some different ideas on the NRL circa 2021.

If we can’t beat the Dogs twice it’s game set and match for Madge and I really think that will not happen.

Firstly, what you say is perfectly understandable.Many supporters in the NRL relentlessly bag Gould, but if you listen to the guy objectively, put aside the bias and hear what he says BEFORE things happen, he actually does know what he is talking about. (i'm not referring to you, just generally). He is a smart operator and the Bulldogs will be getting the full benefit of that in the years to come.

Secondly, Ciraldo is too smart to commit career suicide and come to us. Gould built the system at Penrith. He got the funds for the academy, head hunted Griffin after seeing what he had done in Brisbane, increased sponsorships and put in place the structures and everything you see today including Ciraldo. It has Goulds fingerprints all over it ( apart form Ivan). Who knows how good Ciraldo really is a coach? He had an outstanding crop of juniors he has been able to follow into grade and they love him. We also have that now so that could be successful, but Ciraldo didn't build Penrith and i highly doubt he could or even want to build Wests Tigers.

Payten was a member of the coaching staff at the time, a little different to a player but I also never suggested Farah as a head coach so not a lot of relevance there.

Ciraldo is probably as good as Barrett with a poor squad -and look where he is currently camped.

Payten was a member of the coaching staff at the time, a little different to a player but I also never suggested Farah as a head coach so not a lot of relevance there.

More that we forgave Farah and now he’s part of the coaching group (sort of). I agree it’s unacceptable to be undermining his boss and I know nothing about what went on but in hindsight the club has sort of admitted that a lot of the stuff it did at that time was wrong. Obviously his means were wrong but who knows, maybe he was just trying to protect the club from heading down the wrong path (which we did anyway). We are a club that can’t embrace its heritage (merger wars etc) and has had a very limited number of successful eras. Payten was part of the success that we had and he seems to have been close with Sheens (who sounds like he is being given the keys to the club) and also seems to know how to coach. Maybe we develop a new club under Madge (we get some success and it snowballs). If we continue to have poor results then then club has to do something and perhaps looking to embrace people who have been involved in our success in the past might be better than bringing in another outsider to try and change our culture

Now I didn’t watch the game so this is a scattered opinion but using Cini as a backup fullback and moving Mbye to 9 is one of the most brain dead things I’ve seen a coach do. You take off a 9 to replace with someone who has been playing fullback all game and then bring in a guy to play fullback who you dropped because of his troubles under the high ball. Any team that’s not the bulldogs would’ve realised otherwise. Absolutely dumbfounded at the decision.

And that’s exactly what it was. Cini looked lost and horrendous. Made a maximum of 2metres in each run he had. Team lost any cohesion it had. Why is Simpkin not on the bench??? Soooo strange.

Well this is why Madge is the Coach, and it is obvious you two are just Madge haters. What if we had an injury anywhere in the backline, and we had Simpkin as the replacement. This is why Mbye is so important to the team, as he can play anywhere. So if Mbye is playing fullback, he can use Cini. Also, it gives a young player like Cini some game time. If they were using MC as a replacement forward, you could have Simpkins on the bench, however MC looked good out in the centres today, and again Madge was able to give Tuilagi some game time.

Well I had Cini in the centres and a second rower on the bench so Mbye goes down, Cini goes to the back and second rower comes in the centres. Nofa goes down, Cini to the wing, second rower comes in. You get the point. I am not the biggest anti-Madge person out there but he does have his shortcomings as a coach. This is one of them.
