Madge is done.

Right now I would take Flanagan as coach only because when he coached Cronulla he had them defend very well. I don’t care about peptides, that’s history. I want a coach that can get the team to defend.

Some will say that he had a team of old heads, players that had loads of experience. Well he put them there over a number of years, he built that team. No-one can argue that they weren’t a good defensive unit.

I want a coach who can get a team to defend well. That’s all, is that too hard?

Cameron Ciraldo is the Panthers' defensive coach. he's the one to go after. not the bloke who won a comp over the cap and is known drug cheat who is completely unproven in this era of rugby league.

Flanagan is more proven than Madge in this era of rugby league, his title was 2 years after Madge, he last coached as a head coach in 2018, Madge has been here since the start of 2019 and proved he can't adapt to this era of rugby league

Flanagan's title doesn't count, it was the result of cheating.

It still riles me that the penalties for this were just about swept under the carpet - there was to be a flat 2 year ban, but guess what - 2 weeks!

Ok ex-madge supporter, what's your answer if today Mbye or Nofa, or Talau gets injured, and you have Simpkin on the bench?

Well I had Cini in the centres and a second rower on the bench so Mbye goes down, Cini goes to the back and second rower comes in the centres. Nofa goes down, Cini to the wing, second rower comes in. You get the point. I am not the biggest anti-Madge person out there but he does have his shortcomings as a coach. This is one of them.

You must be a JT supporter , OMG. He was the last coach that did that at Leichhardt oval, we were winning and one of our backs got injured, he put the edge player Lovett out in the Centres, within 10 minutes Canberra put on 3 tries and we got massacred. Nick Meaney and Hopoate would of thought it was Christmas.

Bit hard for Canberra to have scored 3 tries when it was against the Panthers

Madge is not a proven drug cheat (unless he gives them Valium??). No thanks to Flanagan

Pretty simple. Chee KAM on the bench with simpkin. He only gave tamou 27 minutes so one less forward won’t make a big difference. Imagine we had a Simpkin playing against the warriors when joe o played the ball.

He’s proved he cant coach a poor team to success. You won’t get much different out of Flanagan who’s a similar credentialed coach but has a bad history. Listen to what Phil Gould said ‘ignore the media noise, continue building and he emphasised to stick with the coach’

If we switch coaches it has to be at the right time where they are setup for success. Funnily enough that’s when Madge’s contract ends.

Madge won’t see it through it’s my view from day one but he’s the right man for the grunt work.

Highly dubious reasoning. The premierships were 2 years apart, like you say. Even the Tigers can make the finals two years in a row, shows you how small a window that is.

I'm interested how a bloke who hasn't been a head coach in 3 years is more "proven" for the modern era than a guy who is actually currently coaching. By that logic I'm more proven than Madge as well - haven't coached a game of footy in my life.

My reasoning is simple, Madge has coached the last 3 years yes, but coached really poorly in almost every facet of the game.
He has taken the team backwards, and can't recruit a single quality player, so on that basis Flanagan would improve the team, most coaches would improve the team from where it is now, it was better before Madge got his hands it on it 3 years ago

Out attack and defence has gradually gotten worse over Madges time, has it not? I don't know the stat's but it seems so

With the speed and agility some of them move with the last thing they need in them is more cement.Perhaps a few laxatives would be more appropriate

I think people calling for him to be the 80 minute hooker need to watch that video.

Joe O & Mbye racing up paying no attention to the ball.

That video is embarrassing.

You mean they weren’t racing up to try and shut down the open field goal that Reynolds would of certainly closed out the game with being just 30 m out and right in between the sticks?

Sorry there's no logic to that. You are saying because Maguire did not improve Tigers, Flanagan would? There's no correlation.

By your reasoning, if I put tomato sauce on my cereal and it tastes weird, simply because it tastes weird, barbeque sauce would be better.

In fact you say "most coaches". Me included?

Apart from the fact that Flanagan is a convicted and suspended cheat, I personally reckon 3 years out of head coaching would be a real concern. You stated a concern that Madge hasn't adapted to this era of the game, and I'd have similar concerns for a coach who hadn't been in charge for 3 years.

In fact I'd double those concerns considering Flanagan was given a 1-year run as assistant coach at Dragons in 2020, as defensive coach, they came 12th with a points diff of -74 and Flanagan was not retained.
